Description
I stole a line from Blind Willie Johnson and listen a lot to Bruce Cockburn's cover of "Soul of a Man" to write this tune.

nice tune... welcome!
Nice bit of dark bluesy stuff here. Like the tune and singing and picking. As for the mix, I would prefer not panning things quite so far apart (for us headphone listeners)... I'd pull the banjo and rhythm closer to center, but still panned a little L&R like you have. Good stuff.

Headphones
I wasn't thinkin'... iPods. I'm bettin' I'm one of the few left on the planet who still listens to music on big honkin' speakers that are too big to lug around the room. I don't mix with earphones; I use my studio monitors. I just listened to a couple of my tunes through headphones for the first time. Wow... it does sound really weird to have such a directional pan. Thanks for the tip. It's this kind of feedback that I've been hoping to get.

(Now that I've got Garageband working again, I think I'll sit and rework a bunch of stuff when I get back home.)

Sheep shearing... I haven't thought about that since I worked ranches 35 years ago.

Thanks for listening to my music.

The world seems just a little bit different now that I've moved to another part of it. I'm still an old fella gettin' older, but life is different. I no longer have a studio, so I'm not teaching right now, but I am gigging a bit more than I thought I... [see more]
