Description
Ive recently moved house and been commuting from Lancashire to Cumbria and its involved walking up hills alot - sometimes difficult but a worthy challenge, and this is approximately about doing that.Theres a bit of a chord change there that reminds me of Jeff Buckley but it wasnt intentional. Thanks for listening - Rich!

Lyrics
Violet Wine
She slips off that summer dress while I climb
Above the city and my heart is aching so
I have but one desire, but work is never done
Heavy like a loaded gun
I feel those hills of eyes upon me
Stones whispering the names of those
Whose steps I follow now
The Iron axe bores down, our Kingdom to the ground
Our fate written in the stars
We roll in fields of wine and thunder
Rain sweet between the lips you are the women I believe
Can take away the pain,I'll try to do the same
To blow the fire back into life again
The Wheels of industry keep moving
Round and round they never seem
To make enough to rule the world
But you hold it in your hand
You light their shadowed lands
They're crying for the skies you command
She slips off that summer dress while I climb
Above the city and my heart is aching so
I have but one desire, but work is never done
Heavy like a loaded gun
I feel those hills of eyes upon me
Stones whispering the names of those
Whose steps I follow now
The Iron axe bores down, our Kingdom to the ground
Our fate written in the stars
We roll in fields of wine and thunder
Rain sweet between the lips you are the women I believe
Can take away the pain,I'll try to do the same
To blow the fire back into life again
The Wheels of industry keep moving
Round and round they never seem
To make enough to rule the world
But you hold it in your hand
You light their shadowed lands
They're crying for the skies you command

Love the poetic, impressionistic ode to landscape. Actually, it makes me think what a collab between Buckley and George Michael might sound like. I like the electric piano dreamy work a lot. Made me think of heather blowing in the wind, rising up to the stars just beyond the strong and covering sunlight. Had me thinking upward, which I appreciate. Thanks for translating this experience into music for us to share.
