Lyrics
BABY TALKS IN CODE

I.
I’ve got no real cause to complain.
I’m as lucky as I can be;
but the language that my baby speaks,
---it’s a mystery to me!

II.
I’m not lacking in education.
I know all the words and sounds;
but it takes a lot more to crack her code,
than the knowledge of verbs and nouns...

CHORUS:
Our conversations are rituals!
Our arguments are a dance!
I know even before I speak;
I’m taking a real big chance!

I’ve struggled thru years of laughter and tears,
to decipher the signals she sends;
but just when I think I’ve got it nailed,
baby up and changes the code again!
Woop!

III.
Well my baby she thinks in spirals;
while I think in straight lines.
Sometimes when we’re talkin’,
I fear I might just lose my mind!

IV.
I really should be grateful,
‘cause she sets my soul on fire;
and her mysterious communiques,
keep a-sparking my desire.
Ha ha...yeah!

CHORUS:
Our conversations are rituals!
Our arguments are a dance!
I know even before I speak;
I’m taking a real big chance!

I’ve struggled thru years of laughter and tears,
to decipher the signals she sends;
but just when I think I’ve got it nailed,
my baby up and changes the code again!
Ha ha ha...

Hey Jack!
You remember Blodwyn Pig? How cool!!! But the similarity is an accident. It's just that Andy Wigzell's stylings are so similar to those of Jack Lancaster herein. I asked him about the influence, but he's never heard them!

As for the "fire" you speak of. Well...I was pretty sick for awhile there...and a bit worried. Once I started feeling better, a new wave of creativity swept over me. I've got two more rock tunes in development. After those I hope to take a bit of a break so I can concentrate on performing live music for awhile. We'll see how THAT pans out...

Anyway, thanks for the encouraging words and the nice comparison. Much appreciated!

Be well bro!

Oh for
crying out loud...how long has it taken you to realise this....Women are not meant to be understood ......okay,okay I get it,you knew all along but have only just plucked up the courage to point it out in a rather rocking song,fair play,and it is a good solid rocker....but please tell me that you knew all along that they have a language and mindset which is tuned to Female, that's what FM really means !!Actually it is a bit of a headbanger isn,t it?...the sort of song that Ed Sloparts would say of 'You're having way to much fun Micheal' This must have been Andy's last effort before he bogged off I s'pose. Nice job on the Sax Awigze ! Great collabaration, actually there seems to be a lot of these around just lately....good stuff. See ya gang.

I've been married...
...this second time for 36 years Chris. I've witnessed the shifting of the code several times over the years. Ha ha...It just took me awhile to write a song that shows my appreciation of it all. My wife Diane and I laugh about this phenomenon frequently. She LOVES the tune btw.

Andy Mackle has a lot on his plate right now. I suspect he will return eventually. We keep in touch. He's a really great guy. This was my first collab with the good Mr. Wigzell. It's been a great experience that I hope will be repeated.

Thanks for the nice comments my friend. Glad you like the tune!

Hey Mark...
Why would they seethe? The song is not a criticism...it's a CELEBRATION of the magic. Viva la differencia!

My wife understood immediately and laughed her head off. Women know right well that most of the time we just don't get them. Diane thinks in spirals and I think in straight lines, but we both end up in the same place.

Anyway, it's obvious you enjoyed this one. Thanks for faving and commenting bro!

Be well!

Mark, as
a woman with 60 years of experience at it, I am well aware of the different wiring and program direction between men and women. I like this song for a number of reasons but mainly because it celebrates the workings of our minds. I think we all need to fall in love with our lover's mind and appreciate the different perspective of our vision. Micheal is well on his way to being a "woman whisperer". It doesn't hurt that the guy can sing and play an instrument too. Women love musicians because the have rhythm. :)

Ha ha yeah!
Jarvoid and I ... and Calchas are all in deep trouble now, but what are we gonna do? Now, I have known for a long time that it was women who sat around the Cave Hearth and invented words while the men were out hunting... and secretly attached esoteric algorhithms that applied to the subtle nuances of these inventions known now as language. Where would we be without our ladies, eh? I had a great time working on this song Michael... I hope I did it justice. I am glad Diane likes your song... I am kind of relieved about that... but I am sure she offered up the universal eye-roll when she walked out of the studio... woop

Spicey bit of wisdom
leaned well and savored. As long as we are entranced by the mystery behind the differences there will be joy. You don't have to go to another planet, you just have to listen the musings of the opposite sex to take a ride into another dimension. May we continue to find something new and learn that there is more to life than what we can conceive of inside our own skulls. Hot playing by all parties and inspired lyrics, my dear guy friend. Keep on your toes and we won't make you guys wear tutus. Tutus are sissy for guys. Thanks, all.

Hi Ed!
I began recording this one right after I did "A Few Too Many." I was still in a wacky mood, and I consider this one to be the B-side of the other one.

With all the serious arguing going on in the Forums---which I foolishly allowed myself to get sucked into---I'm happy to offer up something light and humorous to balance out the equation a bit.

Glad you enjoyed it my friend! Always nice to hear from you...

Funny thing Vic...
That opening intro section is something I came up with about three years ago. I've always used it as a warm-up exercise. I came up with the main chord progression several months ago, but could never figure out how to introduce it.

A few weeks ago it hit me: "Hey! I already HAVE an intro/outro!" So I stuck em together, recorded it, sent the rough draft to Mr. Mackle for drums and awayyyy we went.

I'm sure glad the Andy Brothers we're on board. I couldn't have made this as "balls-out" (as it were) without their powerful contributions.

Thanks for listening and commenting my friend!

All things come together ..

really well. A gutsy, bluesy rocker .. drives along admirably too. Only nit I had was it sounded a little L heavy: with the guitars (and sax at times) in the L .. but bass a bit in the R .. I might have re-balanced the stereo field a little myself, perhaps a taste thing Mike. Enjoyed it, with fine performances all round. Well done chaps.

Isn't this the truth! : )
Wonder why this is? The Venus & Mars thing. You'd think that we'd have evolved somewhat and that communication would be somewhat easier. Maybe somewhere in Middle School and then again in High School there should be mandatory classes for this included in the new Life Skills classes and Sex Ed. classes. Ha! Ha! At those ages, who is listening to anything but raging hormones. : ) I guess as adults, it depends on how much two people who love each other are truly willing to take the extra time to really listen, and ask the right questions. Beats Me. JD would commiserate in this 100 % - EARTH TO CJ !!!! : )
