Life Without You - A Rock Ballad

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
Five months and twenty tracks, and it is finally completed. Anthony Frazier and myself put a lot of time and creativity into this project. I received many comments on the original post here at MacJams. I decided to start over with a clean slate. It turned out to be a major project for us both, as we pushed each other musically. I want to thank Michael Bacich for writing such a awesome bass line, I had fun playing it.

Lyrics By - Anthony Frazier, and Steve Caustrita
Vocals Arranged and Performed, By - Anthony Frazier
Music Performed By - Steve Caustrita
Mastered at Smoke Cloud Studio by Steve Caustrita

Enjoy!

Wow
I am glad you enjoyed the song. But the guitar? No sure, but we did have many issues with the recording of the guitars, so I went for that live feel. To get the strumming the same of four guitars, was a challenge. As you noted Anthony did a fantastic job on the vocals. Thanks again!

Tops!
I really like the production on this so crisp and clear. The vocals on this are outstanding. I like the way it kind of drifts off in the end leaving the listener to repeat life without you. Cool hook !

Your comments are appreciated, Anthony and I worked on producing a passionate and laid back feel to the vocals, but his delivery sealed the deal!

Bassooni Blues
Well, the oboe is one of those ducky things too, few really play them either...we suffer through them for orchestration sake I guess.

Vocals
There were a few arrangements of the vocal but we ended up using a simpler arrangement that focus more on the pain and despair of a "Life Without You". And Anthony captured it perfectly.

Rock Ballad
The classic rock ballad nearly ended in the late 90's.
Life Without You attempted to capture that era of music.

I just got a chance to stop by and say Hi to everyone. I think the song came out so well because Steve has a great talent in music. From it's meager beginnings I think this song came out in spades.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. I had a lot of fun working on this with Steve and hope to work with him again sometime.

Twenty tracks...?
now let me get this straight, Twenty bloody tracks.....what? I cannot handle four....I mean it's bloody awesome and richly produced, and most excellent in the performances 'n' everyfing but Twenty tracks...blimey it must be like Clapham Junction or that place in Chicago, the siding yards with all those tracks...I'm going for a lie down now.

Dag what 5 months
Sounds incredibly professional, which is what I would expect with that duration of work.

The main guitar sounds very 12 stringy, although I suppose that could just be an effect. Either way I love that sound in rock songs.

very professional sounding production!
This is an excellent mix, the vocals are strong, clear, and confident and you brought them out loud like they should be in the mix. I like the guitar as well, nice acoustic riffs and the lead is sounds cool, reminiscent of santana
