One boy workin in a pizza place got fired yesterday
Lost his daddy 5 years ago and 5 thousand left to pay
One girl said it was a waste of time always trying to save the world
A man on the corner selling his soul got teeth made of gold

Now if the waters keep rising and we dont change a thing
We may aswell kiss our children goodbye
But if there is hope in the valley and a smile in your step
Then theres a chance that we can survive

How many times - do we watch the news and still walk away to die
Its so easy to forget another kind of debt when were not certain of the reasons why -

We might aswell just throw these savings away
