Description
Some time ago I discussed with Scott (12Parsecs) how much I'd like to write and sing some lyrics for his "Okey Dokey Smokes" instrumental.
This is the result. I knocked out the lyrics in about 2 days after a monumental session of listening to the music in the car, on my ipod and PS3 and generally everywhere I went. I recorded them in Garageband on an old dynamic mic for the chorus and my condenser for the verses.
I've retained the "Okey Dokey Smokes" title, but for me the song is "Undone" - the lyrics are close to my heart and tell a fragmented story from my past. Scott and I discussed the strangeness of him discovering I'd pretty much settled on the melody he had in mind for the song. Pretty amazing as we live opposite sides of the Atlantic!
After sending a rough cut to Scott he seemed pretty excited about what I'd done and asked for the raw audio tracks to put a proper mix together. This is the final result and I love what he's done with the magic producer dust.
I think that starting form such a fantastic piece of music I couldn't really go wrong, I'm little more than a very happy passenger on this truly explosive ride.
