Description
An improvisational-compositional session. Made the following way:

1) Felt inspiration so I put the zoom h2 somewhere in front of the guitar and improvised for an hour or so.

2) Chose to start working with this one (the first of four or five jamming sessions).

3) Sifted off parts from the recorded material that shouldn't be there.

4) Made some eq-ing.

5) Asked my 12 year old son for advices on the mix.

5) Posted on MJ.

Comments:

- Photo by MrsCurry at Göteborg central station.

- Guitar is dropped-D tuned.

- Didn't plan to post it, thus I didn't care much about mic placement, or, for that matter, that I had my reading glasses on, which stops up my nose slightly which in turn make my breathing audible at places and which I really don't like at all but chose to post this anyway because a jam session happens only once.

It's
nice to hear a jam session - especially one of yours as your playing is always outstanding. I'm only listening through my iMac speakers so the mic placement and breathing didn't trouble me at all.

..
no need to be so apologetic - its such a fine contribution. Its strings ring of cori and somwhere between a greek harp and a lullaby in a yurt after a drink of something that I didnt recognise that hit me rather quick, and then I started getting into the guitar playing, while wandering if i asleep or awake - not in a bad way.it slowed me down and forgot my worries - sorta took over.I climb the stairs after this as a blonde - er ok - bald adonis who WILL have good sex tomorrow morning.Simple and yet as complex as a bird singing in a tree.RG

Darling dearest husband..this is indeed an interesting piece!
It seemse to me that something has happened that makes your music different than before!
To me this is a development.

I know your music, and I know that it reflects your heart and soul

love it.
it has a jimmy page feel to it that only a true devotee of the acoustic guitar can achieve. for a jam session, this rates up there in the top of the heap. mine rarely get off the ground and find this level of complexity and saveability... heh.
thanks for the post.

Improvisation
Great free style picking.
Very soothing to the ear.
Clean mix, no hiss or background noise.
The D tuned guitar give a fuller sound to your composition.

Really pretty
Love how this turned out. The mic placement sounds fine to me. My ear isn't very well developed, but I'd be tickled pink if I could get that kind of an acoustic sound. As for the breathing, let it fly man! I wouldn't dare change a thing about this track.

Like being there...
Very natural ambience, and over speakers, which is how I'm listening today, there's a lot of space and air and I'm not, so far, being bothered by any breathing...

Your playing always goes interesting places... Even in places where you repeat you are never repetitious... I think you're one of the guys that the universe designed to be the perfect guitar player for my ears and mind...

Good to hear something from you again....

Hi
I'm glad you posted this since it's much more than just a jam. We won't know what you cut out but what you've left in is pure gold. Can you ask your son to listen to some of my uploads - any advice towards getting a sound as good as this would be welcome!
Regards
Steve
