Description
I have been listening to the trees album 'Polly On The Shore' a lot recently and it has taken over my head a bit. It reminded me of all the great music that was around when english folk met rock and roll in the late sixties. It was a time of great experimentation and spawned the likes of the Trees, The Incredible String Band to name but a few. Any way this is my homage to that era, though I could never hope to emulate it. I apologise if it resembles an actual song composed by any one as I have not heard lots of folk music. The melody and counter melody reminds me of a church bells pealing across green English meadows, some thing I think that inspired many an old folk tune.
Anyway here it is I hope you enjoy it, feel free to expand and develop. I may try and do a logic remix.

Lyrics
Come all ye people come and gather
By the old rugged cross
where the sun is gently warming
In the dell so green and fresh

Yes it is a bit medieval. I think a lot of early folk has it's roots in church music. Yes it is a bit trancy, that will be the loops because I was to lazy to record all the parts for 2 mins so I recorded a short bit a looped it. Thats why it is a bit short.

Nice tune
I like the way you doubled the vocals. When the drums came in it kicked it up a notch. Sort of sounds like you would get if you when back in time and turned some minstrels on to electric guitars.

I remember the ISB!
And still listen to bands like Steeleye Span, the Pentagle, and Fairport Convention. This fits right in with them...

A neglected genre
really like the doubled vocals. Bought "Leige and Leaf" 40th anniversary issue recently and drenched myself in stuff from my youth. Then at Christmas I met a chap who turned out to have been Fairports accountant for the last 30 years...small world. One to download and play on my next drive up to Eccles! Cheers Mark
