Dark Charm

Description
Definitely listening to a lot of 70s folk-pop when I arranged this one. America, mostly. It's not about anyone, per se - but the double meaning of "charm" being both a personality trait and jewelry I thought was interesting, dark = mysterious more than sinister. (Somehow I think my Les Paul was slightly sharp in some spots. Sorry about that.)

Lyrics
The dark charm that you wear
The moonlight in your hair
The shadows dancing there
You are there. You are there.

The dark charm in your eye.
I can’t breath, though I try.
The dangers I’ll deny.
Do I dare? Do I dare?

It’s that dark charm – that power in the stone
It’s that dark charm – § won’t leave me alone
Your spell has got me now, and I don’t care.
It’s the dark charm (that you) wear.

My mind begins to spin
Your charm is bound to win
The dark charm draws me in
Like a snare. Like a snare

The dark charm, hot and deep
It haunts me in my sleep
And happily I weep
Take me there. Take me there.

It’s that dark charm – that power in the stone
It’s that dark charm – § won’t leave me alone
Your spell has got me now, and I don’t care.
It’s the dark charm (that you) wear.

Just a folk singer. Well - mostly a folk singer, but I like to try just about every style a middle-class white guy from Mid-Michigan can sincerely try. Be sure to check out my "band" — I used to play R&R with these guys back in the 70s, but now we'... [see more]
