I've always loved this tune. A Shaker hymn if I remember correctly. Lovely harmonies on this. Pretty acoustic arrangement. Would love to hear more of these from y'all. If you ever need more porch pickers, I can join in on mando and or guitar, but it sounds like Feter has that covered!

There can never be...
...too many renditions of this beautiful folk song. This one is upbeat and very personal. Flowers in bloom, hearts in bloom, peacefulness in bloom. Nicely-conceived with Roxy's special vocals and the wonderful a cappella verses. So straight-forward with a driving beat and a positive attitude.

A New England song...
I live in what used to be Shaker country, although 'Simple Gifts' came out of the Maine Shaker communities...

I particularly like the a cappela parts, where what I assume is Feter's low voice is a nice counterpoise to Roxylee's high part...

The feel is really nice...

a soprano guitars with single stings on it so it sounds like
that (Ancient) ...and yes no picks only finger nail ...glad you

I love this song, and I love your rendition of it. One of the keys to doing this right is to keep it simple, and you certainly did that, so I applaud you all for such a lovely and fine interpretation! Is it my imagination or is something funky happening to the rhythm in the beginning of the instrumental solo right after the a cappella verse? No biggie, though; great job here, everyone!

The references to "turning" in the last two lines have been identified as dance instructions.

(I kind of think He intended it to allude to the change that comes upon a person when the person sacrifices his ego to God. IMHO)
