Lyrics
I've got this mandolin and a pocketful of cash
I've got this premonition that the market's gonna crash
I've been a busy boy and I've taken special care
I've built a secret place so let me take you there

You won't have to worry about the creeps who live next door
we'll laugh and raise a glass as they pound upon the door
I'm gonna chase that frown away
hey hey hey, let me lead the way

down in the bunker where we'll both be safe and sound
we'll pack our things away and we'll take them underground
stack up the jelly jars as the crime rate starts to climb
we'll make spaghetti when it's Armageddon time

we'll live a life of ease in our shelter from the storm
we've got our kerosene to keep us nice and warm
I'm gonna chase that frown away...
hey hey hey, chase your frown away
what do ya say? chase that frown away

I'll wake you everyday and i'll tuck you in at night
I'll chase those blues away and I'll make you feel alright
I'm gonna chase that frown away...
I'm gonna chase that frown away...
I'm gonna chase the frown away...
I'm gonna chase the frown away...
everyday...

Noticed you had
a new one whilst I was at work this morning and unable to listen. So I have rushed home at lunchtime to get my fix.
I know you never disappoint - and you haven't. Your songs are so worth the wait. Another instant hit.
This is just so, so catchy, on my third listen of hundreds - another great add to my collection.
Thanks Brian.
Cheers
Len
PS: Can't believe you haven't gone to Logic yet, although it couldn't actually sound any better than this - totally pro mix.

Yes, I do have to upgrade, I know. I was waiting for the latest version of Logic. It's out now, so I have no excuse! this song finishes up album #3 - I didn't want to change horses midstream! But I will upgrade now. :)

thanks for listening, as always..

A Boy and His Dog?
This is just the perfect chestnut, the perfect antidote for the frown. What a happy end-of-the-world scenario, kind of like the R-rated 1975 post WW IV sci-fi classic, "A Boy and His Dog." This is SO sincere yet whimsical that I really can see you singing this to your best canine friend.

Know, however, that I mean this as a compliment. Your talent shines here.

I remember that movie. a young Don Johnson, yes? I actually wrote this for a co-worker who basically has a bunker in his back yard, awaiting the collapse of the world as we know it!

thanks for listening :)

Post-Apocalyptic Vice
Yes! Yes! Don Johnson, Jason Robards and a talking dog who was teh smartest, smarmiest character in the movie! I think it's time for a double-header evening: A Boy and His Dog back to back with Soilent Green.

The apocolypse
has never been such a treat. Lyrics are great, too. It's like a caveman beating a potential mate over the head with a club to drag her back to his cave. It's comforting to know we'll end up like we started :). Great tune! Your songs always make me wonder what the hell I'm doing wrong!

i dig it...
dude cool concept and great execution. apocalypse songs are truly ridiculous but yet for whatever reason appealing so love how this embraces the absurd. like the sprites on bluegrass. great little rollicking tune.
