Get up off a that floor - LIOLI 9

Description
This is just one of the places that loop took me while I was playing around with it.

I dissected the loop and built 4 parts out of it. The Bass line is one, as well as some strings, piano, and synth. The rest is mostly loops, but there are some guitar parts in there that I played for the song. Mostly, I just had fun with it. I threw together some ad-lib "Lyrics", if you want to call them that, on a whim.

Enjoy, but don't take this one too seriously.

Pretty woman sittin' on a chair

Lookin' so good, lookin' so fair

Wanna go ask that little girl

Come out on the dance floor, take a whirl

Yeah, Now Get up off a that floor Dance, Dance

Yeah, Get up off a that floor Dance, Dance

Get up off a that floor come on Dance, Dance

Get up off a that floor Dance, Yeah

Oh pretty mamma, lookin' good yeah

Come on Baby, lets get up and dance

A y ou don't know what you're doin' sittin' there so fine

Makin' my little body, react in time

Lookin' so good Mamma can't you see

You gotta come out and dance with me oh yeah

Come on pretty Baby

Now get up on that floor and dance dance

Get up off a that floor, now Dance Dance

Uh Pretty Baby

Get up off a that floor, Dance Dance

Get up off a that floor, Dance Dance

Get up off a that floor, now Dance Dance pretty baby

now Get up off a that floor, and Dance

Come on dance

Come on and dance with me.

Come on and dance

Thanks Feter
Glad you liked the way it turned out my friend.

That loops was something else, but it did have some possibilities hidden in it.. After listening to some of the other LIOLI entries, it's easy to see it affected everyone differently. But I haven't heard a bad entry yet, they're all just great.

Thanks again for listening Feter and for the great comments.

Really nice of you to give me a title like that, no matter how undeserving it may be. That's because you are the "Real" Super Looper my friend.

Thanks for listening and the kind words, Kenta. Say hello to that pretty wife of yours for me.

Be well and be cool,

You know how you KNOW you succeeded...
It's when a tune plays in the background while you're reading something else. Yet, even though you're reading, you find yourself humming and singing to the tune and then you come to that realization — you're humming and singing to the tune from MJ, not the radio or a CD, etc.

To make a long story short (yeah, too late I guess), excellent work.

It was a lot of fun Steve
these LIOLI challenges are always a lot of fun, and in doing them you always learn something new about music, and also yourself.

Thanks for the visit, the listen, and the kind words on it. Feel free to dance among yourselves if you wish.

Thank you Keith
Glad you enjoyed the way it came together. That loop was harder to conquer than some of them, but it succumbed after a while.

Thanks again for the listen and the nice comment Keith

spontaneous generation of life
the vocal ad lib gives it spontaneous life - wonderful!

i like the sounds you pulled together - that synth is nasty good. and the steeldrum somehow fits, don't know how, but it works!

thanks

Sometimes a loop is just a loop
That steel drum was one of those happy accidents that happen all the time when doing music. I was looking for just the right filler to break the music up and stumbled across it. Worked pretty good in the context of the song.

Thanks for listening Bill, and for the kind words.

Ed

Where am I, some rippling alive place where everybody is right out there in their crazy eccentic best, dancing impossible moves not even physically possible?

Yeah thats exactly where I am, you demented genius you. Id love to live in this place.... dance dance dance. And Smokeys dead right - the steel drum is a nutty idea that fits perfectly.

When I say "dance" you betta dance!
It's amazing how many of these tunes ended up with an Asian feel. So many highlights here. The robo-wah in the verse and then the steel drums out of nowhere, but a perfect fit.

Glad you enjoyed this take on the loop. It was a fun challenge, but then they always are. I thought I'd mix it up a bit and throw in a few things that were unexpected, hence the Steel Drums.

Thanks again for listening and the kind words my friend, it is appreciated.

Seriously, great song.
Great idea to dissect the loop! I did that, but all within the string section. It never even occurred to me to try completely different instruments within the loop. This is great! So much going on in this, never gets repetitive, and it's wonderfully put together.

Thanks Mike
Sometimes when you want to use a loop like this as the basis for a piece of music, it helps to dissect it into it's different components and try it out on different voices and different pitches. beside, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

Thanks a lot for listening to this and ending along the very kind words, my friend, it is appreciated.

Ed

We all have our guilty pleasures Dave
This is one of mine.

had a lot of fun putting this one together from that infernal loop. By the time this was done I never wanted to hear that loop again. So what do I do, I listened to all 51 and counting songs made out of this loop. I think my ears were bleeding by the time I got through them all.

Still, I love the LIOLI challenges. They make me think outside the box, which is always a good thing. That and they are a lot of fun.

Thanks for listening Dave, and for the kind words, my friend,

Be well and be cool,

Ed
