Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil (lioli 9)

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
For the lioli #9 challenge. The challenge loop is used to open the piece with the synth sound changed and a up-down filter applied. It remains as one of the foundations of the song. The bass line also comes from the same loop, being a section of the loop.

And now for the important part
Very creative use of sound and this dastardly loop Bill.

Covered it up to where it's in there, but not too offensive. Very smooth production and mixing on this one my friend.

Great track

a new lifeform?
wow. that sub bass. i love the sweep filtering. the (very cool) mallets are mechanistic: man's attempt at creating a new lifeform? i like your signature downwards chromatic sweep every time.

very nice

thanks!

signature indeed
I guess I do use that sweep down quite a bit don't I? Just seems to me a good transitional device that lead the song back into the groove.

The bass is the hook
I really like the way the bass comes in here and when I developed it, it became the hook and almost the lead in the piece which is why I put the bass "solo" in as the bridge. Thanks for the visit.

Another
comletely different rendition of the Loop...I am amazed. Lastingly impressed by how different folks have stroked this little fella into different forms and tunes......Great.

This One...
...is really terrific, too. It gave me the same feeling that mine did--sort of like the soundtrack to an 80s movie. Faved and downloaded.:)

Bill, nobody else ventures into the garden at midnight, but you
but if this is what we could hear all the time if we went, I bet there'd be a party there tomorrow. Great tune and definitely a Bill Brophy tune (is it because of that chromatic sweep?). Thanks.

Bill
De-freakin-lightful! Just a great example of mood over rhythm. Simple, but elegantly arranged. The spit and polish show. You are a pro man.

Tripping
Love the dreamy feel flowing like dreams, beautifully put together. Those synth voices are like Aurora Bourealis.

Incredible entry. This is a killer piece.

Really enjoyed this.
I like how you used the loop as the bass line. Great job with this. Love the sounds you use; I don't really use synth stuff as much as I should. A piece like this reminds me of how great those sounds can be, especially when crafted together well, like this is.

Like this'n
The bass has a nice groove and percussion low end makes this compelling... Like the fact that you slowed it down a lot to a easy listening tempo.

Very nice
Love the bass. Nice and powerful sounds that create a lovely soundscape. Nice change in the middle of the track as well. Well done, well composed.

This so fits
with the segment in the book where they are in the grave yard ..... deep groovey bass line and just wonderful synth work. Cannot give enough kudos here .... and that bass line ...deep and delightful. Excellent track.

falling Star...
this seems like it could fit well into an off the wall film production- the sound and mixture of instruments is awesome and yet complimentary to one another. Nice ambience.
