Description
My first collaboration. Bob6stringer wrote this one. From the number of hits it has seen everyone has heard it already! I heard it, liked it and asked Bob if I could add a few parts. I was originally going to just add some drums, but this B3 part jumped out in front of me and I had to take it for a ride. Then I added a little Glockenspiel. I know what you are thinking, a little glock goes a long way. I hope I didn't over do it.

Anyway, Bob and I are going to do some more on this, but I wanted to post what I've done so far.... It is, after my cherry-poppin first MJ collab. I couldn't wait.

Here is the link to Bob's latest version: http://www.macjams.com/song/53691

Hope you like it.

Very Good
you should post the link to the original song so people can compare easier. Enjoyed it. Thanks for the post

Aha
I got it. I see what you added now (went back and listened to the original). You added a bit of ELP flair to the song I would say. Nice. Kinda jazzy at times (not a shocker considering your background and influences)

Wind in the sails
Steve... steve! This is gettin' exciting. I think at this point I need to strip-out some of my guitars (esp. where I veer off-beat in the 2:20-2:40 break) and give you some dynamic room to navigate.

Sailin with Lizi
Well conceived, the building is very nice. There is high level musicianship here. The linear construction presents a great feature for the glok lines. The chugging beat is relentless, like the sea. My hat is off guys...

Steve your pedigree is authentic
I'm sure that you remember how prog influenced me early on... the thing about prog and fusion is that so often it was more of an intellectual exercise, when the music that has always spoken into my soul was always heart driven... you have all the technical skills that those players require, at the same time retaining the most critical element.... HEART ....

this has tons of HEART & ample testoserone...

Bob you sound like YES here... I will go check out the original

carry on gentlemen

Yes?!
Scott, you've come a lot closer to Steve Howe than I have. But the Yes reference is quite a coincidence. As I say in my intro notes (under the "Hardware" section, I wrote that I sought drums that were:

"a polyrhythmic, percussive merger of Yes' Alan White (Tales from Topographic Oceans or Close to the Edge) and the fast-paced jamming of Allman Bros. Live at Fillmore East.

Yikes
Thought I was listening to some of my fav prog bands of years gone by, I used to feast on music like this, mostly Brit bands who expanded Rock into a fusion of influences, and colors, to say I luv this would be an understatement. Just like a time machine taking me back to the good old days when people played, and created music that blew the norms outa the system, and challenged the listener to really listen. Bravo gents..

Good classic rock
In general I like it a lot. Some of the solo guitars disappear a bit much in the mix. Maybe a bit less effects?

I love the massive wall of sound you're creating here with all the guitars and the organ. Very effective.

Wow
Yes, there's some ELP, and Yes, but mostly this is like a brand new unique Prog-Rock fanfare, sweeeet! Didn't listen to the original. It does get a bit busy in there, but there's a lot of driving excitement that doesn't lose momentum.

I liked the original
and I like where this is headed. Can't wait to see how you two develop this in future additions.

I can hear the references to Yes in there, but I also hear some influences from Heart as well and especially from the Dreamboat Annie album.

Very cool how this is changing and growing, keep up the great work you two.

Impressive!
I went back and listened to the original. You've added a lot here… the original was already pretty saturated with sound, but you've somehow added more instruments without making the texture more dense! I have no idea how you did that, but your additions work extremely well. As others have said, there's an ELP and Yes quality to the piece now that wasn't there beore, or perhaps wasn't as obvious before.

Very impressive!

...and more. Luv this tune, especially the energy. Nice changes throughout your arrangement. Real nice chops too, Bob. Great mix... no doubt, a lot of blood sweat and tears went into it.
