Description
Various composers have made settings of the 15th century smash hit Tandernaken (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandernaken). They have in common that they can have rhythmically very independent parts. The idea is that the bass holds down the harmony, while being of course melodically interesting; the actual melody is in a middle voice, and the top voice plays some wild improvisation over it.
I'm playing one of these Tandernaken settings, written by or at least attributed to Henry the eighth, with a local ensemble, Passing Measures. But I need practice, so I thought I'd record the backing tracks so that I could play against them. And then things got a little out of hand....
(If you want to download this, there is a slightly better mix here)
