Description
This is a song that's on my first album "The Return of the Well-Known Trout" which you can get on iTunes. It's one I never posted on here. Originally recorded on four track cassette and then remixed on digital and remastered by Tommy Wahl of Wahl of Sound in Germany.
It's pretty self explanatory. No hidden messages. Boy meets girl, boy pays for girl, girl goes away, boy left alone moping about it.
Thanks to the Greenwich Village photo web site for the photo.
I hope you like it.

Lyrics
The Darkness of the Night
She lived outside of dog town
Where all the people saying
The Star Spangled Banner
Whenever it begins to rain
She never had much money
Her pockets never deep
She found ways to make a living
While other people sleep
Met her on a Sunday
We kissed in the hall
Saw her on Monday, That was all
She never said she loved me
She never said she cared
She never told me she would tear up my heart and throw it in the air (just for fun)
What about love? In the afternoon light
What about love? In the darkness of the night
What about love? as the clouds chase the sky
What about love?
Dreamt of her on Wednesday
When I touched her cheek
She rode away on a moonbeam forever and of reach
I never called her honey
I never knew her name
The only thing that's funny is I'd pull out my hair and do it all again (just for fun)
What about love? In the afternoon light
What about love? In the darkness of the night
What about love? as the clouds chase the sky
What about love?
