Description
I got sober almost 15 years ago; had a little problem with smack. I was dabbling in the idea of getting clean, but never quite got it. I met Jessica at a meeting. She was cute, smart, funny and made being clean look fun. We were inseparable for a couple of years, we lived together, she cut my hair, bummed cigarettes off me and made me feel special. She had beautiful brown eyes and a scratchy voice when she talked. Her proudest moment was when she played drums in a band that opened for Fugazi (I was proud of her).
On Sunday I went to her funeral, she had died of a Heroin overdose. Wasn't really a surprise; I frequently saw her around town and she was a mess. Broke my heart, but if you don't want help: you don't want help.
I can't believe that we'll never see each other again. Even though we hadn't been close in some years, I still had a special spot for her in my heart.
Jessica always loved this song so I re-recorded it. It's classic indie pop, 3.5 minutes of jangle fuzz and harmonies.
Podfarm was acting up, and I didn't have much time, so I had to use the amps in Logic 8. Not good, but it get's the idea across.
