Description
Over the years here, it has been my great pleasure to work with EINARUS....Einar Tyhjjhjhjhjhjhjhjgkjfkdl....the icelandic names are hard to spell....but he is EINARUS to all of us at MJ....he is now in his early 20's, and is attending school to finish becoming a genius.

I have 6 or 7 collaborations with Einar i forget now....but they are all little treasures to me. I never ever get to play like this live, and it's fun to play parts to einars little symphonies.

On this one, he calls it STEPPING DOWN, i sent him the guitar parts and he did all the mixing. I also sent a mix to him to suggest how all the parts would fit together, in my mind anyway.

I was surprised and delighted how Ein re-arranged what I played on his mix, it was and is a delightful surprise.

So, Einarus wrote all the background music, then mixed in my supplied guitar parts. I did a tweak on Ein's mix with a channelstrip master.

Hope you all enjoy this....and thanks Ein for another gift I will always treasure.

Whoa... AND we get to listen for free...
How bad is that?

This sounds terrific, Fran and Einar.... it's big and bold and punchy, but it's also got subtlety and dynamics... Great sound quality all the way through... The guitar playing alternates gentle/thoughtful with fiery and intense.... Well crafted sounds and structure from Einarus...

there you have it
music made in a log cabin in Massachusetts, a bedroom studio in Iceland, being grooved on in a cafe in Damascus. Welcome to today, folks.

It is amazing that in a world where we can communicate so beautifully, we still fight wars.

oh man - i LOVE the team of Einarus/Ziti - i think it's one of the most dynamic pairings i've heard on MJ, and given how MANY excellent combos there are, that's saying a lot. Fran - your guitar in here cries, whispers, cajoles, sings. einar, your "little symphony" is beautiful - love the high repeated arpeggiated notes, your gorgeous piano, and EVERYTHING about your orchestration. Instant fave - thanks boys!

Nice stuff Fran and Einar
Lovely playing over Einar's beautiful sundbed Fran. I'll have to speak with you some time about maintaining interest over long solos - it's a real art.

I'm on here rarely so it makes it that much more satisfying to be lucky enough to find this on the front page of MJ without too much searching. I know you guys love music, but I hope you're getting paid for it, too!

good. That Ein wrote the accompanying trax to fit the parts you sent just blows my mind. You two collaborating always produce larger than life soundtracks.

brilliance happens
when you melt these two talents together... every time.

Love the slow electronic bell-build, and then having Fran's guitar launch out of the first mini-crescendo like a glorious soaring light. The mixture of Ein's crystal-clear arpeggielectronica and Fran's gritty-energetic guitar work are just luscious. Excellent work, again, you two!

What they all said
Superlatives are just not super enough to describe your collabs.

This is just the way I like Ziti's guitar (or anyone's, only that rarely happens ;-) and a killer "background" by Ein. Very sweet and thanks for the download.

First
of all I love your tone.Your touch on the guitar is incredible every note has a different dynamic. Then you have great phrasing and play with tons of feeling. The background music is amazingly well done, a perfect vehicle for your solos.I don't know if this is a real amp or a pod, I just got a pod but mine doesn't sound like this!

ziti said 60 days ago (September 23rd, 2009)
sure it does!!
The POD can and does sound like anything....

my only suggestion, mark, is read the manual...there are all sorts of tricks in there you would NEVER figure out on your own...

I used a setting that emulates an old Fender amp, and I use one of the 4 x 10 speaker emulations....

the compression in the POD is GREAT, and that is a big element in the sounds i get on mine.

greatest piece of gear ever made!!

Just Beautiful .....

composerclark said 59 days ago (September 23rd, 2009)
Wow
this is truly spectacular music! You and Einar make a tremendous team… his music tends to have such a "cool" feeling, and once your solos get going they always sound "hot" to me, so this creates an amazing juxtaposition between those two extremes, and I love it! You both have my most profound admiration. Great stuff here.

wow
thanks clark...ein writes guitar beds that really allow me to be pretty creative. Since I NEVER EVER play this type of rock music in my shows, I love the chance to work on his stuff. Someday, if I ever can afford a keyboard player, we will try to play some of this material.

your support means everything!!

All Kudos...
...as have been stated above so much more eloquently than I. If I could offer one suggestion: the bells draw me into the piece, but they never fade to the background and I am somehow overwhelmed by them throughout the number...Also, just from a practical standpoint, this gets SO busy that I can't keep it all straight. I am thankful that you came back to the single piano. It just seemed a bit heavy at you got into that last 30 seconds or so.
Enjoyed the number, though.
Peace.

Thanks guys
Guys, beautiful. Einarus ethereal music provides the perfect dynamics and variation to a powerful guitar solo.
Trying to give more than praise this time: some kind of hook/chorus phrasing in the guitar, repeated a couple of times during the song, would give the listener a time to enjoy and rest to start again. It would give the song a more explicit structure too.

ziti said 35 days ago (October 18th, 2009)
hey ya billy
if you listen close there is a tremelo guitar figure at the beginning that is repeated. That is intended as the songs theme...and if you listen even closer, you will hear that theme repeated in the last guitar solo.

I thank you for the thoughtful comments...listen again and see if you can hear what I mean.

best
