We got to Jive in Blues by (Feter)

Description
This song is more of a celebration more than anything. More for forged alliances and friendships. Feter had a blues tune that he wanted to use to suggest a couple of good friends sitting by a campfire sharing the music that they love the most... Blues. I imagined crickets and crackling fire sound effects, when he first described it to me in MJChat... but it doesn't seem to fit now. I was more than obliging to throw down on this as we had touched on some blues before and it seemed to work pretty good. When the lyrics came in an email with the Feter mixdown of his guitar and vocals I was blown away. When I read the first lines, "We crossed many roads, none of them was true," it hit me like Mr Feter had known me for many years. I had crossed many roads looking for True. Not ever really finding as if the search was more important than attaining You hear alot of things along the way and you pick and chose what you want to be true but eventually it all catches up to you or drops awayand you have to face what is. At any rate, this is really Feter's song but he insisted that I post it. He's done this to me before and I protested then too but to no avail. So in the spirit of True Friendship I proudly post Mr Feter's song,' We Gotta Jive in Blues.'

Lyrics
We Gotta jive in Blues

We crossed many roads
None of them was true
And its 3 after midnight
We got to jive in blues

Got trouble In the summer
Bad luck in winter too
we aint nothing but travllers
We got to jive in blues

We got to jive in blues
We got to jive in blues
Who knows what tomorrow
But we got to jive in blues

Life getting hard for pennies
The pucket crys aloud
Anything for piece of bread
We got the jive in blues
We got to jive in blues

We got to jive in blues
Who knows what tomorrow
But we got to jive in blues

your comment reminded me of when I saw Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee... although it was in 75 and there they were giving it their all in a little club on North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas called the Hole in the Wall. I always think of them whenever I make the attempt to do what they did so well.

Blues...
Couple o' guys sittin' and talkin' and jammin'... Nice. What a relaxed feeling this has. Very authentic-sounding, very satisfying blue number unfettered (no pun intended) by over-orchestration. That simple guitar and sax drone (now and again) is perfect.

What's a Pucket?
I never did ask Feter what a pucket was. However there is a reference to pucket in an online urban dictionairy, but it is rather lewd, so it does not apply here. There is a puck from Midsummer Nights Dream and another definition of it that I gladly cut and paste here:

in medieval English folklore, a malicious fairy or demon. In Old and Middle English the word meant simply "demon." In Elizabethan lore he was a mischievous, brownielike fairy also called Robin Goodfellow, or Hobgoblin. As one of the leading characters in William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, Puck boasts of his pranks of changing shapes, misleading travelers at night, spoiling milk, frightening young girls, and tripping venerable old dames. The Irish pooka, or puca, and the Welsh pwcca are similar household spirits. I hope this helps.

Road house music
You've travelled a long day and when you stop there is a bar that's better called a dive, but you just know the chicken fried steak will be great. And as a bonus there is a blues singer, who you can tell has gone down more and longer roads than you see in many years yet to come.

Great blues tune, guys.

well done!
i'm in the habit of d'loading a buncha songs and listening to them later without a clue as to who's singing/playing - i like it that way 8)
when i heard this today, my ears perked up. now there's a fine, fine intro. then the vocal - deep and broad. who? the haze cleared slowly but surely as i finally recognized you, feter, but of course! i liked the "mmmm"s, too - very heartfelt. delicious gtr solo - and i'll tell you WHAT: that sax is sublime - the juicy growl at the end of intro was a hint of super stuff to come, and i thoroughly enjoyed every mellow tone. mighty tasty gtr solo - super job, gents. i really enjoyed this.
