Description
"“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” --Albert Einstein

When I was just a child, I used to stand and look out at the night sky and the illuminating sea of stars, and imagine that somewhere, someone was looking back at 'my' sun and wondering who was looking out at them...
It seemed only natural, after all...
Even today, though my feet may be set firmly on earth, my mind will be forever voyaging....

Thanks to the freesound project (www.freesound.org) and 'acclivity' for morse code sample.

Forever Voyaging
This beautifully conceived song contains all the wonder and awe you intended. It reaches a depth within me that corresponds to the vastness of what is external.

Wonderful work in a genre that is hard to get right. You managed to.

how do you express 'eternity' in thought?
I'm glad I didn't have to with words, anyway.

is a beautiful thought
its the journey that counts...not the destination
steps are being taken and possibilities are starting to become apparent
this is a great soundtrack for that

Lights out
Here in Portland my favorite radio station has a program at 10:00 PM weekday called "lights Out" that plays this genre. I don't know why I haven't listen to it in some time but your song is so relaxing & beautiful that I have been inspired to give a listen tonight. The separation of sound & overall production here is perfect. Thanks for sharing, T

Hi Mystified........
This is a wonderful addition to the SRC 2009. I was lost in wonder only a few seconds into the piece. The background sounds took me to mysterious, far away places, and the piano brought me both back to Earth and made wherever I was, out there, more of a real experience, as it brought me out of the reverie I was already in, to enjoy the 'local' scenery.

Take care.

Love what
you wrote above, as I and many others must have felt exactly the same at some time. This music is beautifully descriptive of someone holding those thoughts in there mind, as they gaze outward and upward toward all that beauty, power and magnificence. Meditative and full of emotion....... love it, regards M

You have a special touch Cat,
that is a gift for leading others to see inside your mind in the music. If you don't believe me, read all the various comment about this piece of wonderful music. There is a common thread through most, if not all of them.

Wonderfully played and conceived Cat, Thank you for letting me peak into you mind and touch the Universe with you.

Wonder is .....
This is beautifully restrained and flows like a relaxing sigh. Stellar production (pardon the pun) which is so alluring in its ability to transport me out amongst the stars.

Wonder at the night sky has brought so many elements to my life that I am forever thankful for. Thank you for capturing the quiet mystery of the heavens.

Sometimes I wonder...
...if something I'm about to post is too minimalistic, or simple. I did wonder that with this composition, but the more I tried to add to it, the less it seemed to say--if that makes any sense. In the end, a simple Morse Code string was the only accent to the 'finished' track that I decided to add.
I do think, sometimes, in our cluttered and distracted lives, that a little more 'space' to reflect and to ponder is what is needed.

Doug Somers said 45 days ago (October 7th, 2009)
I KNOW what you mean
I have had exactly the same thought with my work- is this too simplistic? Simple can be fine as it has room for what it important to stand forth. But I often worry if simple slides into simplistic.

I think - no, I know - you made all the right calls on this lovely work. You have given us all the gift of space to ponder and recognise just what is going on.

Thanks again, and I hope that this reply goes in the right order after your first reply.

Ha! Another Morse code snippet...
I'm glad I'm not the only one who did that (though mine is a little more buried in the mix.) Gorgeous picture, I see stars in your eyes. Love your touch on the piano, and the slowly rolling/flanging synthesizer bass adds firmament between the sparse breaths of piano notes. Contemplative and serene, but begging to be listened to. I hope others are looking at our sky too.
