Description
I was asked last year by my friend John LaMantia (BossHook) if I would write a Halloween poem and this is the end result. Below are the words that John wrote for me as we have this on another site as well. I never got the chance to put on here until now and as it is nearing Halloween again thought it would be good to resurrect it and let Macjams have a listen. I am truly grateful for John asking me to do this as he is a very talented artist in his own right.
Johns Words:
"I am always betwixed by Doreen Yates poetry writing and reading. So I asked her if she was interested in writing a Halloween poem and then I would score a little music backdrop for it. Well she whipped up a few perfect Hallowed verses, indeed.
So in the Spirit of Ghoulish Gimmickery and Goblin Hob Nobbery, here is our Halloween effort. Now turn out all of the lights and listen to this..."

Lyrics
That day we all dread once more is here
Spirits, ghouls and goblins it seems we have to fear
Coffin lids creak and rise in the dead of the night
We must all stand together and show them we can fight
Legend has it they want our bodies to possess
To bring them back to life in a bright new dress
But we have a weapon on this Halloween day
An army of children who will keep them at bay
With their magic costumes and their paper sacks
Those boy and girls are ready to go on the attack
Bright orange pumpkins and weapons in their hands
With masks on their faces they are ready to land
The wind may be howling and weird noises all around
Our army will soon beat them back underground
So when those children come knocking and say trick or treat
Don't send them packing else the spirits may come to eat
Its only once a year for twenty-four hours we are told
But there's lots more to this story still to unfold
They are all over the world these skeletons of the ground
So be wary and listen out for their ghoulish laughing sound
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!
Spirits, ghouls and goblins it seems we have to fear
Coffin lids creak and rise in the dead of the night
We must all stand together and show them we can fight
Legend has it they want our bodies to possess
To bring them back to life in a bright new dress
