Description
Had to get this one done really quick today so no time for retakes. Maybe it's a demo I'll revisit, I dont know. Seems to be a lot of pitchiness going on, a slightly out of tune guitar, bad production haha oh well.. actually I'm a little embarrassed by this one! Might not be up for long.

Lyrics
the lights are glowing outside her window
as she gets ready for her date
the steam is rising from her bathroom
from the shower that she takes

she looks in the mirror at a stranger
she hasn't dressed like this for awhile
but she is happy with her decision
she looks at herself and smiles
a big smile
and then she

tries to wake up from a dream
she wonders if it's too good to be real
"Is this really happening to me?"
she's never felt the way this makes her feel

her doorbell rings her heart skips a beat
she feels like she did when she was young
she rushes to get her shoes on her feet
and wonders if this could be the one

she opens the door and smiles her best smile
her breath is short but she stands tall
and when her eyes have finally met his
she whispers a quiet shy hello
and then she
looks away and

tries to wake up from a dream
she wonders if it's too good to be real
"Is this really happening to me?"
she's never felt the way this makes her feel

aw come on
it's rare that anyone puts up a quick demo. cool to hear the roots of a song. i could see this starting out kind like it starts and going in a massive direction.

Way too much talent
for one person. I think it is hard to sing slowly like that. If you are hearing pitchiness that is probably because you are holding notes.
It sounded fine to me. Oh, sweet whistling.
What a nice ballad. I can relate. Thanks. Don't you dare take this down.

Great demo
A very good shot. I like the overall atmosphere of the song and your passionate vocal. Just polish it a bit and you'll have a great track. Cheers / Mike

Ridd...
Rough is just fine at times! This works well... Sure it could be tighter, more in tune... But this has a charm all its own based on how it was done!

I enjoyed it!

not embarrassing
sounds pretty in tune to me....
good song!
sounds good as is, an instrument or two added on might flesh it out a bit... for some reason I'm thinking an accordion might sound good on this one...

Accordion
Check http://www.musicdrawer.com/main.php. That's a free accordion software instrument for GB and Logic. Sound quite good (based on samples).

Quicky
Keep it up. Or create a Son-of-rsorensen page to put up demos and such.

I'd be proud if I had written this by the way.

Great tune
Very soulful. Has a really nice honest raw quality to it. I wouldn't touch it with a retake. You may want to do another version with orchestration, but I'd hang on to this performance/mix.

Nice job
sort of reminiscent of your low fi stuff you posted a month or 2 ago. Like your stuff like this. Just a bare vocal and guitar.

gee you're busy
this is a lovely tune and I'm not sure it really needs revisiting. the lyrics are well suited to such an understated approach. I loved the organ coming in halfway through. perfect harmonies, too.

Let the lo-fi flag fly high. I'm sure your revisit will sound huge, but this has real charm. I'm glad you posted it and I think you should keep it up. Love the guitar sound you get.
