The Last Goodbye (New Version)

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
I've completely reworked the guitars and vocals in the verses as I was struggling having sung it too low in my range. I've added some reverby backing vox and generally pushed the levels down a tad to make the vocal sit better.
I'm much happier with this version.

great remix
I didn't really have any problems with the previous version, but I agree that the changes you made really improved the sound.
Especially the vocal sound in the mix... sounds perfect! to me that's one of the hardest things to do...

It might just be me
but this mix sounds a wee bit hot... The guitar almost crackles with energy unfortunately not from your known great skills... I just thing the high end needs to come down a little.

Still love the tune!

mixing it up
man dig the new backups. the high voices are unexpected and create a cool 60's vibe and the lower voice recalls early REM to a T. the contrast is cool. and that chorus with the muted strum just continues to be super catchy. i was whistling this vacuuming the house the other day. one of my caryatid faves.

Cool song
This has a cool southwestern feel, I can hear some Michael Stipe in your voice. You did a great arrangement job on this. The song vox and arrangment are stellar

I grew up in the 70's and 80's in the south of the UK in an Irish family. I had always loved music but was never given an opportunity to explore making it for myself. About 10 years ago I bought an acoustic guitar and began strumming in earnest. To d... [see more]
