Description
This is the first in a series (probably 2 or 3 more) in a collaboration with Alimar. I have long been a fan of his (well. for the few months I've been a member here at MJ). His song "Sirens" really hit me, but I heard it just after I joined and didn't dream he would let me touch it. Well, recently I got up the nerve to ask him if he would allow me to add a guitar part.
You probably all know this about Alimar, but he is a really nice guy. He was very supportive of the concept and gave me a mix with and without bass. I got it last night and started working on it today. I was immediately inspired. I have only finished working on the first 1:30 of the song, but I'm having such a great time with it I thought I'd post my progress as I get through it.
What I've done with it so far:
1. Added a new bass part. I wanted something melodic that would support what I wanted to do with the guitars.
2. Added an electric piano part to support the bass. This only plays for about 30 seconds or so. It may come back later in the piece. I wanted something that would give my quiet little bass solo some structure and harmony.
3. 2 PRS solo guitars, in harmony.
4. 1 PRS rhythm guitar.
Here is the link to Alimar's remix (the version I started with).

Thanks for listening. Let me know what you like/don't like and help me direct the evolution of this piece. I'll get part 2 up in a few days.
Alimar just posted a really great mix of everything integrated and mixed. Please check it out at:
