Description
About a year ago I sent this to Nigel of the Blindsidedpoets for his thoughts on it. He and I go way back and he knew I wouldn't mind if he tweaked it a little. With some creative editing on the guitars and the addition of an organ and a haunting sounding grand piano, he sent back a version of what he heard in the song. I was never sure about singing it myself, so it sat for almost a year before I blew the dust off it and gave it a try. I still think a better vocalist could bring a lot more to the song, and it may happen sooner than later. Anyone who would like to try singing this song is welcome to try, drop me a note and we'll set it up.

very well done
Very well done Guy and Nigel....the music fits the mood and thoughts, and Guy, anytime I hear your voice singing....I think it's great! I hear depth and and variations of inflections in your tone and range and it makes for a very interesting song, lyrically and musically..melodically...once again..I'll go back for another listen!

There's a lot going on here
all of it good Guy. You and Nigel work good together, cause this turned out awesome man. You don't need to be afraid of the vocal on this, you got the feeling in it and that's what counts.

Great song Guy, Kudos to you and Nigel,

Ed

last day
whoa. that is some shrieking cat-in-heat lead guitar dude. i dig it. also really like the near spoken bits. i think i've told you this before but you sound a lot like chris ledoux. less twang but still...

i like the concept too. everybody has had that same thought. crazy confession time: whenever i'm on a roll with an art project i bull through it because i'm afraid i'll kick before i finish. how crazy is that?

a new song
I like it. I especially dig the talking part, I think you could almost talk the whole way through. but the vocalsa are fine as is, if you don't get anyone to do the vocals it wouldn't be the end of the world. However you should keep the talking vocals even if you get a singer i like that part. like last time I wish the guitars weren't so compressed, but that's my only suggestion.

Last Day Here
Still an all time favorite, my friend!
I still like your voice, especially when you rock it up, but Kitty still wants a shot at this, her voice is all better now!
I just listened to this (the decade old version) last week, always a good tune!

Good power & build..
What was that one harder-edged "commercial" single Phish had in the late 90s I think it was? This reminds me of Phish trying to be tight. OIt's got the tight rhythm and loose "upper" tracks I guess that remind me of it.. and maybe Tray A's vocals, smooth... maybe more Clapton on the vox. Anyway, I'll keep-up with you ... great power in the tracks here.

No holes at all. Excellent playing and mix. Vox is great, I liked specially the low register. I adhere to the comment above about singing = feeling. And you got it!
