Lyrics
from a satellite
i look down on you
from a distance
its all i can do

i swim out from the gulf coast
to a place you like to rest
i see that you are sleeping
it is like a little nest

the clouds are all receding
my view is Crystal clear
you call my name into the sky
you know that i can hear

the sun is setting slowly
the moon is on the rise
i see them both before you
i see the compromise

from a satellite
i look down on you
from a distance
its all i can do

some where over the midwest
i was flying on a plane
i closed my eyes to see you
you are like a little flame

you turn and i undress you
you tell me that i am new
you guide me and you surrender
you tell me i am you

from a satellite
i look down on you
from a distance
its all i can do

i will be your girl
for you i will bend
but if you kiss this girl
a fire you will tend
i will be your girl

for you i will bend
but if you kiss this girl
a fire you will tend

from a satellite

Dare I say Genius?
Brilliant. Vic Chesnut should be this talented, and he's a stripped-down genius himself. I'd like to know more about your instrumentation and arrangement. It's sublime, man.

RIP Vic
This is tangential, but I had to pop back to say Vic, who died a few days ago, would have loved this.

Great tune...
For me personally I could have used a little change in the repetitive kick drum. The tune itself is very cool. Great vocal work. Enjoyable! I just felt it needed a more unique percussion to help it along!

Really happy
to see one of my very favourite artists back with a new song, love the feeling and emotion throughout the song. Wonderfully different arrangement and great performance and production.
Downloaded. Thanks.

the opening of this song is brilliant. i love the off-kilter percussion mixed with the nature sounds. dude, the mixing on this is really incredible - clear and spacious, those bass hits are perfectly audible without being booming. I love the panning of everything, it feels like everything just completely surrounds me and is coming from everywhere at once.

the song itself is gorgeous - there is such a beautiful simplicity to it that is made even more prominent by the interesting percussion and atmosphere sounds. beautiful lyrics.

2:40 there is a synthy beat that comes in, panned towards the left, that was very distracting and really didn't feel like it fit the song at all to me. It also seemed quite loud and got a little repetitive.

background vocals are awesome. everything in this song - each instrument and performance - is awesome. this is a KILLER tune tim.

Mr Mcfate.... there is an elegance to this song. Simplistic and intensely reflective of relationships. I like what Kassia said about it. Dig the ambient sounds.
