Lyrics
although i hold no claim to you,
i have staked out your heart and that is true
and if you someday use these tools to build with another
i will dance around this sacred ground
where your heart lies
i heard that you were pregnant
just before you moved away

we shall balance on our words as secrets
planets we are not and shall never be again
there are no rules between us only whimpers and they are heard by me
the thought of you in bed, hearing your calls
tending your fire with mine
i try to go back to bed but your words are singing

alright so i was at the dentist
he said this tooth is cracked and it has to come out
so i let him take it out
and i kept it and i looked at it
didnt seem cracked to me
if i were watching you
find your spots those moments
and i thought to myself
should i send this to you
something permanent
something a thousand years from now
might be in someone's drawer
in a box
with a cross
on top
and i bend down to kiss you
and watch you float away

Like the groove and the dark energy. Cool use of effects blended in. The sounds chosen complement each other and they are all sitting nicely in the mix. Sounds like a tough breakup though.

Is coolness
I like the shuffle feel to this... In my headphones the vocals were primarily left during the first verse but not annoyingly so. Production sounds clean and cool too. Overall very enjoyable tune!

Thanks for the trip, Tim. This felt like watching a movie, a constantly evolving and shifting landscape. A real treat for the headphones.

well
aside from that very disturbing photo, which i had to scroll up into oblivion while i listened to the song...

another incredible piece. i listened with headphones on, and the bass is KICKEN. deep and rich. you could maybe bring the vocals up a tad, i had some trouble hearing them clearly in parts.

in both this and the previous song, you have used strings in such an awesome way to fill out the background. especially in this piece, with the combo of synths and strings and atmospheric sounds, such a gorgeous full soundbed here.

lol...the spoken dialogue has a certain cadence that reminded me of that old song...um..."it's ponderous man"...lol....it's great although a little hard for me to understand.

great organ. the guitar around 3:50 could be brought up slightly in the mix.

all personal opinions. this song is awesome. another download!

Finally got here!
This sounds terrific Tim - I like the mix and especially the scattered sounds of percussion, which holds this together nicely. The fx work really well too (as do the strings). Vocal is perfect for the song - the spoken bit reminds me of Robbie Robertson's first album for some reason.
Mix is just about perfect also - you must be really pleased with this one.

Adventurous but controlled soundscape.
I like ALL of your music. I listened to this but I guess I didn't comment. The adventurous soundscape and rhythm track are well-controlled, so they don't take-over the narrative. I'm kind of old-fashioned in my guitar myopia, but this holds "even" my interest.
