Description
first track on the Hold Fast collection. There is quite a bit of noise, Harold tried to filter it with SoundSoap in Cubase, but that produced some popping noise in the mp3 export.

Pretty melody on this one
Well produced overall. This song could use some harmonies. The string squeak on the acoustic is a bit loud as times, compression can sometimes bring it out too much. Overall a beautiful track.

Thanks for my first comment..
I'm brand new to MJ ... this track was recorded in a studio almost 15 years ago on an old ADAT machine. I would love to add a few things and then have it mastered. very cool to be here and i look forward to listening and being heard. I welcome your suggestions!
thanks again.

Love
the vocal. The squeak is distracting. I don't recall hearing so much of that in any other song. Thanks.

I agree...
thx for the comment, this is a raw recording from 15 years ago off of a DAT tape if you even remember those... hopefully I will get some time and can clean it up a bit with modern technology!

Welcome aboard...
Really "intimate" recording, the rich vocal and guitar are very "present", which is nice... and I like the unusual chords. The "squeak" is ok, a little distracting because of the rather consistently harsh attack, but on the other hand, it also reminds me that this is a real guitar performance, which balances it out in my book :-) I was listening in headphones, so the very last guitar phrase, being only in the left ear, was a little distracting. But overall I really loved the song and singing.
ttfn,
Drakonis

beautiful. production is fantastic. love the space. your voice is great. love that you leave the first chorus is a break with no vocals and then add the lyrics to the second go round ("would you mind if i rode a while with you"), GREAT composition decision. Cool tune, thanks for the DL.

Nice and clean. Yes, i hear the pops & the squeaks, but they aren't too bad. Great first post. Looking forward to some more oldies, as well as something new.

I am listening on the laptop speakers now. I don't hear any noise (except fret noise). This is a very lonely tune. Very effective performance. If you are trying to get rid of the fret noise you could try a notch filter. I like the overall sound, even on the lousy speakers. I'll have to give a listen later on the studio monitors.
