Description
Nothing like a song about the sun, on solstice today! :)

Second song from the analog archives. Harold is mixing these from the tracks he ripped from the CD I gave him... Not much leeway for tweaking.

My friend Jeff Haddad on bass riffs

John
Solid tune. Your recording of the guitar is super clean and gets all the intimate tones. Vocals are clean and pleasing. The bass sounds thin on the laptop, but that is to be expected. I'll listen later on the Studio Monitors.
Good job,
Stephen

great vocals
You have a great voice. Sounds great as is, in small family or friends gathering at the beach or yard party.
But really, I could hear this be really enhanced by adding a drummer or even just adding some rhythm loops.
Is this already mixed down or do you have it on separate tracks??

I imagine DavisAmeria is licking his chops to get his hands on this one.

Nice tune.

Great voice!
Not sure why, but I'm thinking of Jimmy Buffett when I hear this. Not a big fan of bass played in the higher registers (althouh the playing is terrific). Like Damien, I can hear this beefed up with drums (and a lower, funkier bass line).
This is a cool song and you obviously have a really good voice for this style - the high notes are so perfectly accurate - how'd you do that?! :)

Cool groove
When this started, it took me back to the early days (and the hundreds of hours) I spent at a friend's knocking out songs on his four track...... Then your vocal started, and knocked me back to reality: we NEVER sounded this good even to ourselves!
This is so cool and laid back, but utterly confident. Lovely stuff.

John and Jeff,
Your voice is superb! Well tuned and easy to listen to. Lyrics are right on. A simple and effective song. Bass line works well.

There's something a little "sour" about the guitar chords. Tuning?

What a cool tune, it's very casual and the lyrics and singing are right nifty (sorry- born in the fifties) ok, cool, that comes from then too... The Bass is distinct and not smart-allecky a'tall. Do I hear a distant saxophone...? no, wait, that's inside my head. hmmmm.

Hi John
Harold pointed me your way. I like this... Personally I could have picked a lower deeper bass sound to fill this out some... but the song is way cool... Nicely done!

Very nice
reminds me a little of Paul Simon's "Graceland" work .. like "diamonds on the souls of her shoes". Fine vocals. Bit of sunshine on this snowy festive season here in Sweden. Thanks for sharing.

Bass
Nice song. There are a few things that bother me about the bass: it sounds a bit thin, and it plays the same rhythm as the guitar. Personally I would just have played half notes for a lazy feel to go with the song.

most excellent
now there's a deep down low bass guitar - delicious.
what a cool n easy vocal you own - effortless, beautiful vibrato,
with a throw away delivery. how perfect. 8)
"swon't ever get old" - just one example of nifty phrasing everywhere.
