Lyrics
HEY JULIAN.

Hey Julian
Whatcha doin on the street?
If you’re tryin’ to kill some pain
Just Never know who you’ll meet.

Hey Julian
Where ya’ fixin’ to go?
Have ya’ got a secret plan?
Will you ever let me know?

Hey Julian
I saw you in a dream last night
We were walkin' hand in hand
On Garie Beach in the dawnin' light.

I remember the night you cried to me
For the first time since you were three
Said you were only bein’ who you could be
I could only see who you were to me.

Hey Julian
You were never meant to fall
I hope you understand
I tried to hear you call.

You lost your heart since you were young
Though you were loved by everyone
Long gone hopes and songs unsung
Just fragments of a golden son.

Hey Julian
They got ya' on the ropes this time
But I'm still your number one fan
An' I'm prayin' that you'll do just fine.

Happy 2010 Dennis!
I really like your Petty/Byrds posts. Not sure I've heard you use keys much before - sound good.

Sad lyrics - such a shame that so many good kids sem to end up on the wrong path these days. It just seems to work out that way I guess - no rhyme or reason to it. I hope things work out for you both.

Best wishes from Oz,
Neil

Great lyrics as usual
and nice juxtaposition between the lighthearted feel of the music and the content of the lyrics. Love the organ and this is a super mix. Fuller than some of your previous postings. As always I remain the #1 DJ fan.

one more thing
love the guitar part on the fade out and the guitar in the right channel that comes just before the last chorus. nice touches all through this.

TY....
Thank you, you guys.

Announcer, yeah....I deliberately made the song kinda bouncy rather than a total dirge which it could well have been....

countryfied squeeze
the stanza about being who you could be/i could only see who you were to me is great. so true. terrific countrified squeeze vibe. i love a good rambling twangy tune. thanks for the DL dude.

hey julian
Checked this out after hearing your "Hymn" tune. I'm a definite fan! I hear all the stylistic cues others have noted, but this bouncy song has its own sound and world-view. Engaging juxtaposition of subject and musical mood as well...
