Lyrics
Switch on the box
Let’s watch some TV
Perhaps a drama
Or documentary
But all I can find is Judith Chalmers
And so called celebrities sitting round in pajamas

CHORUS
Reality TV
It’s not for me
Reality TV
As banal as it could be

It makes you wonder
Why you pay your licence fee
I expect so much more
from someone like the BBC
What happened to Nationwide or Ask the Family?
It’s all just dumbing down as far as I can see

CHORUS
Reality TV
It’s not for me
Reality TV
As banal as it could be

About time you put a 'new' track up.
Great Rough trade /John Peel feel to this circa 79.
And great lyrics.
You may be the first person who has ever rhymed Judith Chalmers with Pyjamas.
Cool stuff
Enjoyed

What a very
rare and unexpected treat.
Just listened to the first version too. I actually enjoyed them both very much.
This version is definitely rockier though.
Great song and production and wonderful to have you back.
Cheers
Len

The reality here is
that is is a great rock song. Nice production here Peter that makes your lyrics all the more able to point out the inanity of some of what passes for programming. Hot guitar - whew!!

Fiery rock tuneage!
So good to hear you back in the saddle Peter. Really nice re-do of this classic. Love the Tom Petty-sh sound of those jangling guitars throughout! Lyrics are dead on, of course, and delivered with conviction. Bravo!

Be well my friend!

This thing starts out of the gate at 100 MPH, and rips up the pavement, and when you vocals float in over it, it is a juxtoposition that works REALLY well. It helps the vox/lyrics stand out. The underlying music is excellent and well played. Your singing is great (again :) And the lyrics are pretty blatant... not even the 100 IQ dumbed-down reality-TV-watching populous need this explained to them. Excellent message... too bad they're not listening. That's OK, we'll just be creative over in THIS sandbox, shall we? :-)

Right on
most programming these days is pretty sad. Your tune is cool though. And, if the programming WAS any good, you'd be off watching telly instead of making music. Cheers.

Great song Peter
and I agree 100% with you're assessment of the "TV" situation there, and here in the States as well.

Cheap rubbish is all reality TV is, trow it all in the dust bin, I say.

You've nailed it with this. The older I get the more I listen to the radio. Planet Rock and Radio 4 and your song is the reason why! Say hi to dartford, I lived off West Hill in the early 80's. Cheers Mark

Judith Chalmers! Love it. But for your own distinctive vocal this could be a tidier Husker Du. Excellent work as always, the guitars are brilliantly mixed. Nice to have you back. (I will get round to that version of Motorway!)

Really cool
Love that vocal sound you have in this. The song overall has a lot of reverb but it seems to work for some reason. Very good work here! Impressed.

That's
some great music. And the voice is clear and clean. Unfortunately, we're still seeing reality tv but most people have to understand how false it really is, by now. Thanks.

Thanks!
I think 'Reality TV' is here to stay. I guess it's cheap to produce but most of it is pretty mind-numbing - perhaps that's what people want.
