Description
First off - Thanks to Andy (awigze) for organizing this principle and getting this challenge off the ground. http://www.macjams.com/artist/Found_Sounds
I had the pleasure of meeting his turtle shell a while back on one of our collabs and love what it inspired.
This is technically not a Tango - more Spaghetti Western Dub perhaps - but I'm feeling romantic so close to Valentines Day. I did an image search using Concrete Tango and found the wonderful picture above of dancing buildings in Prague. Thanks to flickr.com/photos/arne-halvorsen/3418372256.

Samples used include:
Turtle Shell
Conch
Whistles
Betty's Bells
Kenmore Spin Cycle
Gas Furnace
Squeeze 1 Gallon Metal Can

I played guitar and bass, and messed around with some drum loops and delay. The drum loops are also found - freebies from ryangruss.com - as posted in the forums a while back.

Tango Concreto
Ah that bass! Deeeeeep. Cool ambient. I can see the tango relation, and the spaghetti western too (specially when playing the 4th, 5th and 6th strings on the guitar after 1:35). Tango again closer to the end.
A trip. Properly. Thanks for the d/l Bud.

theres some high marks for just including the kenmore spin cycle :-). It creates its own vibe. Relaxing, a little mysterious and most of all trippy. well done

Man your new collab is a killer
the guitar tone was cribbed from Ry Cooder - or so I'd like to think. I had his Cuban record in mind while I was doing this. It's such a great CD with his son on drums.

I really like your bass and guitar on this, especially the guitar... Just a nice, thoughtful way of playing on the guitar lines, a nice touch, and I like the tone very much...

I thought the photo find was uncanny
As I mentioned above Ry Cooder's CD Mambo Sinuendo is a masterpiece of tone and nuance. Really special.

a change up on the latin angle. Evocative to say the least with the write up and the out come of stealthy spaghetti tango western. Make me wonder what above world intrigue is going on in those building. I have to have this one.... Thanks for your stylish creation.......... r

Restrained.
Bud, You've got a subtle counterpuntal rhythm going on here that just ticks away behind it all in such a calm way. The "sound effects" just fit, period. Nice. You could have overdone the lead, but you keep it quiet/subdued like all the rest of this thoughtful mix. Certainly goes well with your picture and I can easily hear it backing a video track of an urban scene. And you got all of that out of a toaster!!! Amazing. What's next? An iPhone comp? You've got so much imagination and talent. :)

conchs, furnaces, betty's bells
betty's bells would be a great name for a band. so would '1 Gallon Metal Can'. nothing more romantic than the idea of making music with found instruments. i give major props to people who can make interesting instrumental music, and you're definitely one of them. If it doesn't have a story i can't do anything with it. Although this has a cool vibe, man i love that break around 1:35 and then that landing spaceship around 2:10 or so...and all those brushed cymbals under the ride, i love that sound - i'd like to steal that. i told micheal2 one of his tunes was like an aural pallet cleanser, and this definitely falls into that category - i'm going to stick it on the playlist and enjoy the chill when it rolls around.

This mellow cleanliness would actually work well on a beach in the shade of a few palms - I think the clean guitar is working that image for me.

This does
have that bleakness associated with Spaghetti
western themes and concrete so hats off for the association there, the quality of production is excellent and I hear the ryangruss drum loops, they are very good. The whole thing hangs together really well...CJ

Excuse me sir,
but I'm looking for the Spaghetti Western Dub section. I want to hear that at least once. Anyway, this is very interesting. Found sounds... but they fit very nicely. What is it making the neat spaceship sound from 2:10 to 2:20? I'm hoping it's the Kenmore.

"Concrete Tango"---Can they DO that?
Strolling through the industrial park round about dusk...Things are starting to get creepy.

Wow Kevin. This is beyond excellent. So freakin' nuanced. Perhaps my fave of all your stuff. The bass and percussion play off each other so well, providing an at-times-loose/at-times-tight rhythm section over which everything else floats and meanders in ghostly fashion.

This is MY kinda Tango!

Be well friend!

PS: parts of this remind me of the quiet mid-section in King Crimson's "Pictures Of A City" ("Wake Of Poseidon" album). YUM!

Really Cool!
Like you mention, not much tango in this, but still, a really thick and cool concept. The bass is awesome, and I mean like Paul Simonon (The Clash) cool. The guitar melts into the mix, and is very well performed. I had to listen to it on the second run, because the first listening was all about the bass. Love what you did with the drum here also.
