Lyrics
This is a little song

This is a little song...

A little man, take the little road, walking, down the hill.
He takes a little break, while talking, to a little bird,
about happiness, and other little things.
The small village and its houses, the little people, oh,
how they wave, their little hands to him.

Happy little women, happy little men.
In their happy little village, sleeping in the rain.
Happy little children, happy little birds,
they're all so happy, in their happy little world.

A little woman, holds him tight, a little kissing in the light.
And the little children also show some love, a little hugging, a little fun.
In a little room, in a little bed, the little people sleeps through the night.

little song
hi mikki. your voice could knock a wall down at five paces. great mix...quite dark in places. my only minor niggle was the pitch of your voice on the word 'night' before the second chorus. apart from that....great track

So...
I was digging through my old .band files, and found the skeleton to this, and I know I've sued it, but don't recall the song. This is of course totally a new take on what was, but I was happy when I found the old melody, it instantly got to me. Sometimes, and I am sure I am not alone, going back in time, you find things that makes you wonder where you where at the time, in what mood, how the melody came to play, what its purpose (if any) was....

Thank you!
Yeah, a lot of things with this song is not in place, especially the vocal. I entered the tribute way too late (as in this morning), and only found time to do two takes of the vocals, and did not find time enough to completely arrange the song. But, it came out quite well, I don't feel embarrassed about the out come of it at all. Since most of my songs are being written and produced in the moment, this song stands as a testament of that movement.

happy little song?
There is an innocent simplicity to this, but with a strange undercurrent of tension... it almost reminds me a bit of "They Might Be Giants" (ironically.) Deliciously offbeat! Thanks for rewinding the time machine!

I've always fancied naive art, in any form or fashion. Anything that makes your mind wonder. In two weeks I am going down to NYC to meet me life-long friend Mårten, now an art journalist, but back then, when we were both innocent kids, we loved and adored the DADA-movement. I think I like to keep that sentiment, because it was the love of my life. And, still is to this day.

I like the eclectic nature of this song. the accordion is very cool. who is the female voice in there? Like this one as I do pretty much all of your stuff. Well done!

Not an accordion this time
But, a Hammond B3 with effects applied to it. And then there's flutes, and arabic instruments (without making it sound arabic) I hope, not that I'd mind, but I wanted it to melt together, like the world. Thanks for listening!!!!

Nothing...
..is weird unless somebody told you it was. Don't ever listen to them use your own ears. Thats the best tool of judgement. Okay, I am a little weird, I admit, but honest nevertheless. :) Peace brother!

anyone lived in a pretty how town
It's as if "anyone" from the e e cummings poem found his voice and wrote this song in homage. I love how your music nearly always transports me someone unanticipated, adding the the fabric of a rich life.

I create a lot of visual arts as well, and it's in a similar, lost place, with no rules, where anything can happen. Although I grab ideas from reality, this forum I am building upon, give me the outlet to speak in a free and open minded way.

Mikki
Loved it. What a nice wall of harmonies and your dark-ish vocals over them. Yes, it's almost a dadaist song, but coming from the dephts of hell. Well, it's the way it sounds to me :-)
A beautiful snapshot of simple life. I forgot how beautiful are stories without a moral.

Dada
Dada has always been a dear friend of mine. It didn't form this song by any means, but I guess it's always there somehow, as is always the naive elements.
Hey, I am going to see a Man Ray exhibition in NYC the first week of March! :)

this is a little song
in title only. I'm with Drak, there's a little undercurrent and the tension adds a lot. Great build to the multiple vocals and added textures. My fav part is the playful interchange of voice approx 4 minute mark ( a mellow interlude)

Leonard Cohen?
you have good pitch and coolness going on here. Your cadence is curious, almost in a different time signature than the music, which you might actually be able to emphasize to greater effect. Oh, and I hear Leonard Cohen in there too!

Leonard is a great man, both in music as in words. He is not per-say an influence in my music, but I stand shy of being compared with him. I am glad you took the time to listen and comment.
