Description
Another song I put together for the RPM challenge. I'm trying to start getting rough mixes together. My theme is an acoustic instrument in every song, as well as pop melodies, sadness and some texture in every tune as well. This was about another friend who just seems to be getting weirder and weirder, the older he gets.

Now its my turn to feel jealous
This is a tremendous start and is far from 'rough mix'

I am totally looking forwards to hearing the 'album' in its completed version

Will you sign my copy?

everything about you
Really lovely song to start my monday morning.
Mix is not 'polished' but that's it's charm.
The backing vox both high and low are top notch.
Has a sort of White album / Abbey road feel to it in it's purity and clarity.
Everything in it's right place and nothing wanting.
Enjoyed very much
cheers

Reminds my of a Harrison track from that LP. Very well-done. Always love your stuff.

Instant classic M2
I love it when you work in this mode. Really dig the little Strawberry Fields mellotron sound in there. The ache and tenderness in your voice is perfect. Like Bryn - I can't wait to ear the finished CD. Stay loose with the production - I think it sounds great - has a really nice Big Star feel.

feel like i been there a long time ago
really like your vocals on the chorus, the touch of raw underneath the smooth psychedelic harmonies, you often hear this type of tune phoned in but there's real feeling in your delivery. reminds me of the jayhawks. LOVE the "dee dee dee dee" backups at the end.

damn
I'm always in my own world when the rpm challenge starts and don't hear about it until too late. But the good news for me is that you're putting together an album with a theme like this. I'd buy this, so I'm ripping you off right now. Rough mix? No way. Everything seems to be sitting perfect. Great acoustic sound, man!

everything must pass
excellent tune Michael, sure there is a slight association to harrison's "isn't it a pity" in the verse. but it retains your trademark style on the slower tunes.

any who's this is a solid tune, very melodic and nice choice's on the instrumentation.

Rough is Relative
I think some people would be high-fiving themselves over something as "rough" as this. Your songs are so wonderfully imagined and so incredibly musical that really production is the last thing I find myself paying attention to when I'm listening to you, but even so, I'll echo the people who say that they hope you stay loose with this in the final version.

Love the harmonies on "bye, bye, bye, bye, bye!"

This is
magic Michael. You truly have captured something with this one. You are known for that though so I'm not surprised, it is uniquely michael2 I think I have a copy of everything you have done with all the old stuff you have been giving away. You truly fell through the cracks of a very obviously "cracked" music business. I am curious to know if you have ever shopped your catalogue or a portion of it to publishers?
Thanks for another free bee
Peace
Guy

Everything about
this song is pretty sweet. You are doing some amazing writing for this challenge. This sounds like you spent months on it. The acoustic sounds terrific. Just the right flavor of strings/synths in the back. A deep deep album cut

Sounds very cool
especially when you consider the challenge, But regardless of that, it is a very cool song michael.; The mix is clean and everything has a place in the stereo field that's clear and not interfering with anything else.

Like I said, a very cool song, my friend.

From the great lost...
...George Harrison and Chris Bell album....

This sounds terrific, Michael.... I love your voice on this.... I guess I should say 'voices'... You get a neat vocal blend...

The simple mellotron bit is just right, too...

Would you consider posting the lyrics?

The George vibe is certainly there, but your delivery transcends that label. Funny how we all do change over time. Great rendition for the challenge. Thx.
