Description
I originally posted this song several years ago, then took it out during one of my sweeps cleaning up my song list. Well, I'm digging it again, and it's back.

All guitar and bass parts by Steve Vaccariello.

Ultimatum
Dave, good to see you diggin it again, cuz I am very much. Steve blowin me away again. The guitar sound/playing was incredibly cool. Very Vai-ish but with just as much emphasis on the space he adds to the mix. Where did the audio clips come from? they make the ambience all the cooler

Thanks, John! This is one of Steve's favorites, of the tunes we've made together. The sound bites come from "The Day The Earth Stood Still".

I'm Sorry Dave...
I'm afraid you can't LEAVE for so long! So good to get my Dave/Steve fix, as always, this just romps the room. Great mix, great drums, great guitar and wall-to-wall bass. I don't remember seeing the original go by, so it's good to catch it now... well, not really catch it, but maybe "get caught up in it." What a ride!

I'm Digging it too!
I love the swirling guitar figures in the intro. The use of spoken word content is very clever and well executed. I assume they're from films. If so what? Great funky brush drum groove. There's so much going on here. But nowhere does it get cluttered. It just all works so well together.

Aww, dang....
There I was all ready to have a brand new PV thing, and instead it's one of my old favorites.... I STILL listen to this, and it pops up on the iPod in Shuffle all the time.... I love the music and the way the guitars play against the drum beat, and I've gotta say that I still love the voiceovers... Miss yer musical presence, David....

Whoa...
...or "DON'T whoa"...

We lookin' at a Strat through a live amp with effects? Or virtual? Whatever it is, that guy's wailin'!

Very sweet in a very acidic way...

I think Steve is playing with this gear:

Yamaha Pacifica guitar
Tacoma Archtop guitar
Gretsch Electromatic bass
Boss GT-3 guitar effects processor
Korg D1200mkII digital recording studio

(at least, that was his hardware list a while back)

He recorded the guitars and bass directly into his Korg digital recording studio. I chopped up his tracks and reassembled them with processing and drums (Drums on Demand) added in Apple Soundtrack.

Thanks for checking this out!

Hi Dave!
This always was a great tune and it's good to see it back up at MJ.

BUT it's better to see you around the place again.

Welcome back.
