Lyrics
Dont You understand
that we are human
and when you point your finger at me
don't forget I'm a human being

Daylight come shine on me
When youve got nothing to lose
and nothing to believe
Sunlight...walking down your street
everybody feels the same
we all know The Beat

Don't you know your lies can make me cry
I'm not invulnerable just cause I'm a guy
and when you turn to hurt me with your eyes
turn around with a smile

Pixies influence?
I especially dig the vocals and deep sound to this. Muddy. Kind of like a lost b-side. Is the Line6 GX a drum machine? The cymbals might be up too much. I really dig the song. I'd be interesting in hearing this sans drums.

Dave ;)
The Gx is an interface for guitar mainly but I did the vox thru it as an experiment, still undecided if I prefer it over my Saffire LE firewire interface for vocal. For guitars i think it sounds better because I can also use Podfarm now...I tried taming those cymbals but it was a fine line between muffled and bright, Thanks for checking it out1

Dreamy
Did I awake yet? First song of the morning and I'm dreaming again. Do I need to say I love the atmosphere?
Lush and dirty: it can't get better than this. Vocals are great. Love the echoes and the relaxed delivery on your vox.
Nothing better than new gear to open the gates of inspiration. Record everything you play in the next 2 weeks! :-)

Each step is incremental towards better sound and youre right because with each step it becomes very exciting! I was excited just posting a song I did so quickly wondering if I would wake up today and hear the same thing I was hearing when I posted it.

Dark
the L6 box clearly has good sounds in it. I would get rid of some of the lows in that rhythm guitar. It almost sounds like a bass.

Another PodFarm Fan
Yeah great heavy guitars. There's a Smashing Pumpkins quality to those deep and distorted tones. I use PodFarm for all my guitar and bass sounds. The Vox AC30 and Marshall combo are my favorites.

style of song for you Tom... love the vocal sound on this..... and the 'muddy' (as someone said) part really grows and separates the voice and guitar. Just love what you did here... really warm and full sounding with great lyrics to boot, regards M

a grungy delight!
This is excellent Tom. Love the guitar work, and I think the way you recorded the vocals is very cool.

As for the cymbals, I agree with what others said above, but they don't bother me. Too distracted by the great guitar and vox!

Be well bro!

Those darn cymbals!
Thanks Mike, I am glad you liked the vocal recording, I know alot of people dont like an overly effected vocal but its fun to me sometimes...Yes cymbals! I agree but I just wanted this to be more sloppy than usual, I recorded it and put it up on a whim.

i can hear the drums very clearly, great !! - but maybe you could decrease the volume of the cymbals only a bit, then the whole mix will hopefully become a lot clearer.
the guitars are very heavy and powerful, marvellous!
and the vocals have a very very deep sound, interesting.
all in all: good work !
keep it up!

Nice mood on the verses, awesome guitar and synth arrangements. The refrain is really good with a nice catchy melody and nice vocal layers. The song doesn't sound finished, close, but I like this very much.

Hey, I've got one of those...
...or something like it... Whatever came with GearBox, long ago... I usually still use my POD... I love the Budda emulation, among others....

I really think you got a great vocal and vocal sound on this, and there are nice moments when the right hand sustaining guitar dovetails really nicely with the vocal...

Beleive it or not I am putting the GX & POD away for now and using a pretty impressive amp I just got; Bugera V22 all tube amp, really warm tones, it had neat gain and the clean isn't too shabby, glad you checked this experiment out!

The Beat
I like the deep wall-of-sound guitar in the lower register, and the relatively crisp guitar up top is a nice contrast. Good vocs. Good hook, I do think we can all recognize The Beat.

I came, I listened,
but I didn't hear. I'm working at a big disadvantage since my hearing aid decided to not function, and I can't hear any of the highs.

What I can hear sounds great Tom, I just wish I could hear it all so I'd know just how great it is.

Sounds good to my deaf ears though.
