Song Description

Scott joins this ever-evolving collaboration, and I took the opportunity to redo the mix, crispening the vocals, bringing up the gain on the sax a bit, and reducing the overall reverb.

Scott Fugate's (scofugate) brushes on drums adds that authentic jazz feel, Steve Stone's (tonestones) vocals sets the nighttime mood and Andy Wigzell's (awigze) sax underscores the phases of this little tale. Many thanks Scott, Steve, and Andy!

I hope you enjoy this improved version.

Lyrics
Lunar Eclipse

when the night begins to fold its arms
and the chill in the air has its way
i'm getting anxious to know
if you're ready to go
but i'm hoping you will stay

when the moon hides its face
it's dark maroon in outer space
if you think it's begun
in just a wink it's all undone

alley cat you follow me
so where you at? why can't i see?
every night you're on your feet
the same old sight a different street

when the night unfolds its hidden charms
and the chill in the air melts away
when the warm breezes blow
and we're getting to know
the lights across the bay

and the starlight shimmers in your eyes
with the milky way lighting the way
i suspect all this time
you've been reading my mind
there's nothing left to say

Each phase shines its own light
Steve's singing here is soothing and expert. AndySax is dead-on. Scott's drums melt into this perfectly... and of course, your music is a reflection of evening beauty.

Moony
This has such a "two drink minimum" jazz club feel! Love the piano and bass, plus of course the collab drums & sax. I probably could have foregone the synth voice patch, but then I'm a purist. Wonderful job.

This is outstanding in all regards. Love the mellow vox Steve did, and Andy's sax is killer as usual. This just such a beautiful, mellow song, it's really incredible.

My concrats to all of you for this most excellent piece of tune-age. Kudos gentlemen, you difinitely got this one just right. Ed

Very cool
Very stylin' work on the drums Scott. You really are incredibly versitile!

This sounds like it could have been recorded live at some really upscale club in Manhattan.

Nice!

cool light airy
sound to this jazz. The brushes really add a nice touch to this piece. The understated vocal works well. The oohs and aahs in the background are a nice touch as well. Enjoyed it! Great job guys

awesome progression Bill. The pad at the 2:30 mark was sonic silk (the multiple voices). Steve's vocal glides thru like melted butter, and Scott and Andy color it our nicely. Love your tinkling of the ivories as well!

Where is Alannah's VOCALS?!
"When the mysterious moon hides its face;
dark blood marooned in airless space.
If you dared to think "it's just begun,"
think again; it's all undone.

Y(OUR) loves loved another, y(our) just weren't "The One";
no matter; you lived to love another;
not your fault, you just weren't "this" one.
but you were someone's someone.
Blessed to be someone's someone,
and still more than nothing to another."
