Description
I found this short instrumental creation on Coriander's page, dragged it into GB and added some lyrics, harmonies and guitar noodling. i thought about making more of it but after months of deliberation decided to leave it like this.

Lyrics

The road is long - its shadow has been cast
The journey that we shared is dead and past
A whispering of autumn winds remain
And tell a tale that’s sacred and profane

Good Inspiration
Very nice clip and I think it should be lengthened to become a more complete one.

Very nice
Like the Simon and garfunkel / CSN harmonies I think this would be a great lead in to another song, ....... An intro to something in the same vein but really upbeat like stephen Stills Love the one you're with or Suite Judy Blue Eyes

a little Simon and Garfunklyish I would agree but no bad thing....I do not yet know how diff this is from the orig so need to check it out but this has legs ..it could go Folk Rock Ballad sort of thing !

So Pink Floyd!
And that's a cool thing. The vocal sound and arrangement are soooo Pink Floyd. I love the main guitar accompaniment. This is very deserving of further development into a longer piece.

I can hear...
Simon and Garfunklel, Pink Floyd, and CS&N all rolled up in one.

Enjoyed this immensely.

yeah great
very nice little ditty!
Quite haunting actually and the lyrics really really really fit with the mood of the music.

That's just
beautiful Julian. Very gifted of you to see the potential of the lovely original piece and take it somewhere else.
Your production skills and ear for quality are becoming very masterful.
Downloaded. Thanks.
Cheers

The harmony
reminds me a little of Simon and Garfunkle. (Oh man, I got beat to the analogy again! Twice! Rats!)

The noodling is very cool.

The only disappointing part is that the song isn't 4:00 long or longer.

Your American is improving because I was able to understand your lyrics very well.

Seriously, this is really quite good.

oh what lovely harmonies, and yes - takes me to the Simon and Garfunkel place which is a high compliment! guitar sounds great - wish this was longer!

Absolutely, this is...
...the tops! Coriander's track is gorgeous and you have just the right delivery for it with your lovely lyrics. Are you sure you're not famous and just slumming here? I agree with some others, another chorus would have been greatly welcomed, but this is definitely quality over quantity. Thanks to you both! Michael

Just had to listen to the original first to see what you'd added to it.
Write your own songs you lazy git :-)
No, seriously, nice vocals and additions to it.
It's almost like you lift it up a notch with the solo at 1.09
Lovely stuff
cheers

really lovely
in a nick drake-ey way; the guitar is just beautiful, and it's altogether perfect for my very rainy Monday, for which I'm grateful.

I actually appreciate the length. Sometime it's nice when beautiful things are brief.

perfect
I wished to say its not long enough ... but it is just perfect, like a simple bare statement, so direct and yet discreet. Autumn is my favourite season and I always regret it is so short, but in fact it is just as long as it should be. Loved this piece!

The
guitar tells a story in on its own, very elegantly played.
But very short although there are no rules to say it can't b short.
Sounds like it needs some strings in the background might add a little more depth to it. Great work my friend

Wow
The subject line would cover all I have to say, but... This is sweet, psychadelic almost, very intense guitars and vocals. Great harmonies. Great lyrics. Short, but powerful.

The vocals
sit so well in this plaintive sounding song and I love the harmonies Julian. Coriander's playing of course superb and bell-like as always..... I do wish it had been a longer piece though.... lovely rendition, regards M

Really nice
as usual Julian, you have a great talent for harmony, that's something I enjoy quite a bit. I think a song without some good harmony is a little lifeless. Excelent!

Nicely integrated....
I really like your guitar noodling at the end.... including the reverb you used... Sounds very banjo-like....

Neat, tight lyric and the vocals are well suited to the original tune...

Simon and Garfunkel
reintroduced on this one. very nice work here. Has a Scarborough Fair thing going on here. Very well done harmonies. If youu decided to continue on with this song at some point, I think you could really open this piece up but it sounds great as is. Easy to do. You can do alot of it just by cutting and pasting the arrangement then adding some instruments so it builds and sounds more varied. Nicely done!

Firstly, love the photo. Is that one of yours?
Yeah, harmonies from the heavens. Too short, come on, we were just getting into it. The poem is very reminiscent of my view out the window with the thoughts that come from the words. A musical magician.

swell
i like this a lot. Johannes' guitar is legend, and your own noodling is none too shabby. vocals are smoothly sincere - the harmony you chose is perfect. that outro was outstanding!
