Description
Yet another short experiment of mine - this time with the piano.
This is my attempt at minimalism.

What I did was lay down the basic piano riff (which basically loops throughout the piece) and then improvised some (hopefully) smooth violin/flute melodies on top of that.

Hopefully this is more hypnotizing than boring, cause that's what I was going for.

This is quite lovely...
Boring? Um, no, Einar. It's beautiful.

Great use of the strings. What module did you use for them? Good sounds are not enough - you have to know how you use them, and you did so here with great finesse. Very, very well done.

If this is an experiment, the results are overwhelmingly positive.

Fantastic!
I mean it. Could listen to this forever - could easily be 7 or 10 minutes long with different variations. This way I have to put iTunes on 'repeat one'. Excellent setup for the various solos, which - thanks to the new library and your intuitive sense of balancing the various instruments - sound alive and have a strong voice.

Your musical style is getting more and more defined over time and has a confident and purposeful feel to it. Ending is perfect (but about 5 minutes too early, like I said;).

Once again very impressed (oh big surprise) and thanks a lot for another download!

yo
nice sound and tone from that piano, deep n distant. Nice progressions, this sounds like it could be in a final fantasy game..Which is a huge compliment. It has a sense of adventure behind it. Almost ghostly. Great piece.

Boring...
Not boring... something that rhymes with boring though... umm...

Soaring! Yes, that's it... the piano lays the ground-work, and the violin takes off from there, as if launching off a cliff, spreading wings, and gliding over a magnificent canyon.

Drakonis

I love how this is all built...
...over that piano figure, and yet sounds so developed and so full... I also love the way the bass in the right channel underpins the violin or flute as the piece goes along...

Well, first things first, that piano movement throughout is just gorgeous...a beautiful, beautiful accompaniment to the rest of the song. I especially love the cello supporting the piece from the bottom as the flute floats over the top. I agree with Pari that this could have gone on for much much longer.

I listened to this in headphones, and while the violin and cello sounds are great - and well used - they seemed a little loud in the mix to me, especially the violin. I would have liked for the piano to remain more balanced in the mix and have everything feel very "as one sound" as opposed to soloed instruments. the flute line is beautiful, but again, a little loud to me and the flute sound seemed a little synthy - especially compared with the beautiful string samples.

this is a gorgeous piece Einar. i'm really enjoying following you in your experiments and listening as your skills expand.

Theres
a fine line between hypnotizing and boring... You didnt cross it, you stayed firmly on the hypno side.

Einar Glass?
That piano has something familiar to it.

The orchestral instruments are certainly not boring. Lyrical. Soothing. Ok, hypnotizing too. Very nice stuff.

Yes...
... it can go on for a couple of more minutes, but nonetheless, I really enjoyed it! Fitting orchestration and nice piano sound.

Beautiful,
I do like the instrumental counterpoints around the piano work. The whole piece has a lovely flow. Nice mix too.
