Cloudburst - Final

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
Finished with this. Guitars from the M3 (what a great synth it is) Vocals from Tonehammer's Francesca library for Kontakt 3+. Hang drum at the beginning is a new patch from Spectrasonics for their Omnisphere softsynth. Mix seems fine to me. The second half proved the old adage of mixing; as you add more stuff turn down what you already have rather than keep adding volume. I hope y'all like it.

Man I already loved this!
It's a beautiful piece. I see it as the beginning of a major motion picture. A lot of drama played as an exotic location is shot from the air. Love the effect at 2:38. This is top notch soundtrack film score material. Remember us little folks during your Oscar acceptance speech.

really
like the beepy synths. the overall feel of the first part harks back to A Momentary Lapse of Reason, the vox give a different edge though. like it.

Lush soundscape here, beautiful complementary sound choices. Lead guitar is cool. I have to check out that Francesca library, the vocs are a really nice flavor here.

Wow!
That is great! Thanks for the mixing tip. I know that I'm definitely guilty of adding the volume on top of volume.

Excellent song!

Oooh
Like like like,
Most tunes that start with a bit of rain are a winner in my book. Has a scifi feel which i'm loving. Really well mixed. Inspiring stuff.

ooh
love that change-up at 3:00, very cool sounds in there. I'm glad you used the guitar as a lead in this piece. Excellent work with that and it's a cool departure from the vocals that have seemed to be the focus of most of your stuff lately. I'd love to hear you go back to some more instrument-centric pieces full of different tones and textures. This has a nice flow, and I like the atmospheric addition of the rain. Good stuff Andrew.

really luscious
Nice chords there, really sweet resolutions... I might have pushed the voice *back* ever so slightly to give it a slightly more ethereal presence, but not much... and I really loved the growly vocalizations at the end, that was cool.

Well...
...normally, stumbling on such a track would be a real shock to me, but after having browsed through your catalog, this level of quality doesn't really surprise me.

Doesn't mean I'm not impressed, though!

Because I really, really am.
Really.

Impressed by the high quality guitar synth (it sounds *really* good), excellent voice samples and terriffic writing. The last minute was especially fascinating.

I really enjoy your stuff!
