Description
I grew up in a village in the south England county of Wiltshire; a place of wide open spaces known as the "Downs". This is just a little instumental written in Open G tuning inspired by those big skies and youthful freedom

wiltshire downs
strange piece...but it works...and as it goes on i like it...a lot. love the vocals at 1.30. it's a grower...and growers are always the best songs.

This reminds
me a bit of a Van Morrison type of song. As Julian says, catchy.

I can almost
smell the fresh air as I listen to this..... though the vocals at 0.54 seem to me as though they need to be a little more subtle do you think? The later vocals are more in keeping and add a mysterious air, regards M

Open G
Spacious and breezy, much like the picture! Good use of the open tuning's potential (I end up being really harmonically constrained, which you did not...) Nicely done, thanks for sharing!

Smell that fresh air
If this village your grew up in is as lovely as your song and performance here, you were one lucky lad! More excellent music--thanks again! Michael

Wiltshire Downs
Nice relaxing groove. Nice picking and tone on the guitar. This tuning is a good choice to express your theme.

Very nice
I'd agree the vocals at 54 need to come down a bit. Just keep them in the distance as if they're just over that hill wafted in on a breeze. The oohs are much better placed in the mix.

Lovely sound on the guitars.

Cheers

Sweet piece
but the vocals need work. You're off by a quarter tone or thereabouts. Exquisite guitar work, though.

Mellow
Sounds like a mellow meadow in the country. The vocal melody is fine, but did you think of doing the melody with a different instrument?

Good job, well played and recorded.

A very nice piece
Love the groove, would be great without the vocals sat around a camp fire somewhere near Glastonbury. You could get a collaboration going on the vocal, perhaps some words. But hey it's your song and I bet you just loved creating it.

Wiltshire Downs
i live in Wiltshire, too, and have an affection for the open spaces, particularly Salisbury Plain. Nice sense of space in the tune, and i enjoyed the pic (i am away on a ship at the moment). The only slight reservation might be the use of an American idiom at times for an English landscape?
