Description
Well, I wasn't planning on putting this one up but I just listened to Smokey bacon Jr's new one and felt moved to put it up.
A different genre for me generally but thought I'd give it a go.
Drum loop is from an Asian Dub Foundation remix competition so I think it's ok to use it.
I'll take the song down if it's not.
Play loud.
Hope you like it

A different genre....
But you pulled it off. Alot of cool sounds to this one. Nice laid back, psychodelic vibe. I like this alot!
Good to hear from you again!

Dr.Who bassline
Not sure how the bassline happened. Just got in the dub groove. I was worried that it didn't really go anywhere and wether the groove was enough to carry it on. I felt a bit odd not using my usual structure of intro, verse, chorus etc.
Glad you liked it and thanks for dropping in
cheers

glad I inspired you...
Great swooping bassline! And nice dub elements - especially like the scittering drums, they really drive it along. You should try remixing some of your old songs this way - take elements and then dub them up. Like the whooo vocal. Had me nodding my head.

scittering drums
I think those are just a GB loop of electronic pulses..I can't remember as I seemed to have chucked the kitchen sink in as well.
Anything except my echo vox are synth sounds so the whoo vocal is a preset somewhere.
As for remixing my songs I have enough trouble feeling pleased about 1 song..let alone a remix of it !!
Anyway, thanks for the inspiration and dropping in
cheers

Usually the rules state that you can't use the samples for anything else. Take a close look.

I like this track. It has a cool psychedelic feel. Definitely enough variety to sustain the 4 minute length.

That bass!
Man that bass is kickin! It really makes this song break loose and adds the funk element big time. I also like the funky guitar parts.

Good stuff!

bass line
I sometimes suprise myself with my bass playing as I don't think I'm that good on it but this one just seemed to flow it. The guitars are stuck through an echo preset and were the easiest bit
Thanks for your comments and dropping in

wow
this is very cool. I really like dub personally. this is cool as It has thaht dub vibe, yet there is nothing Jamaican about it at all. those guitars are really lush and perfect. i'm into it.

Dub
I couldn't think what genre it was.
I would have called it ambient crunch dub..but we haven't got that genre yet.

ahh
the eternal question: what genre is this. i always default to indie, psychedelic and shoegaze. this could be a psych song too.

that's a really great drum loop, and you've crafted a killer soundbed around it. i love the vocal snippets, guitars and chinese noisemakers weaving in and out of the swirling synths. very very cool stuff.

I didn't know I was getting a reputation for bass lines ;-)
I've been playing the bloody thing since I was 14 and no-one's ever said that.
Might have a go at a reggae track next ;-)

Senhor Brendan! Nobody told me you did reverb. Or do you live in a huge house. As someone who dabbles in such stuff, I love it. Psycho-synthual. Aireeeee!

V. splendid.
