Description
A song about job-hunting. I know the arrangement is pretty sparse, but everything I add makes it worse not better. And I can't play to a click to save my life--I sound like a robot, so this one is click-free.

MS-13 is a Salvadoran gang that's notorious here in Washington D.C. for its various criminal activities.

As always, suggestions and comments appreciated. I know it's a silly song, but I've still had a tough time recording it, even to get it to its present state.

I swear I can be mean
Dude this is brilliant. Love the guitar work and the lyrics are hilarious. Who cares about playing to a click track when the song is this fine. Very fine work my friend.

mean enough?
might be one of the signs of the apocalypse but i agree with hackneybloke. this should be worked into a musical.

the sparse production is sweet but that merry go round piano that comes in at the end way back in the mix is genius. just fantastic.

Sweet chord changes...
...wondering if you chose the Latin slant as part of the "Salvadoran" theme? Whether yes or no...it's a great sound and the lyrics are really cool. I love the little background sounds at 3:00 and the end. Nice touch...

I Would Like To Join Your Gang!
I was NOT expecting that as the opening lyric! I bursted out a hearty laugh!

Really good story telling and extremely imaginative scenario.

I could picture the job interview - you doing your best to look the part of a gang member, except, you wore your loafers and you brought your resume on a thumb drive. The dude with the tattoo on his neck can't take his eyes off you since you mentioned that you parked your BMW in the parking garage across the street. "Is $20 a day a good parking rate or is there a company garage?" Really good stuff.

Oh, and I have to mention, you sound like Bon Jovie when you sing "EM-ESS-THIRT-EEN!"

Great work!
Tongue in cheek lyrics are made even richer by your earnest approach (your singing and playing here are wonderfully done Michael)! Another excellent song and track from you--you've been hitting more winners here lately than Babe Ruth! Thanks again, Michael

Some of our best stuff...
...Comes out of removing ourselves from seriousness.

Great stuff, regardless of the subject matter.

The jazzy guitar line has some tasty licks, and it sounds really tough to play. Great tongue in cheek lyrics. There is a Google ad on this page for Ms 13 Gang Pictures, so maybe applying for a job with them is not so far- fetched

nice playing
I love the jazzy chords in there. I thought I heard the "major ninth" which you don't really hear that much but I have always wanted to throw in a tune. really cool!
"I've got the basic skills" LOL.

Summer breezes and dream jobs
This is fun. I wished I had lyrics to read...
Desperate times all for songs like this!
Gangs underestimate the pent-up anger of middle aged white men, that's for sure. Good luck on the job front.

the contrast between the beutiful guitar, the mellow singing and the subject matter is wonderful. Straight to download this one. I really struggle with click tracks as well!

Juxtaposition - a tasteful approach to terror!
Nice "job-hunting" song! I just finished writing a cover letter and sending it off, this was a pretty funny slap in the face. At the rate things are going, I'll be applying!

This is great, all around. What really makes this fly is your straight delivery's irony/dissonance with the underlying knife-in-the-gut satire. Kind of Tarrantino's classic knifing in "Reservoir Dogs" to the tune, "Stuck in the Middle With You."

I love these changes
The intro progression is a strong harmonic hook. And I love the guitar sound. No click, no problem. And a very clear vocal.
