Description
Not sure if I'll keep the title. Anyway, this song is more about feeling I guess. At times the song feels happy, then creepy, then sad or dissonant. How does this song make you feel?! Constructive criticism is always welcome. Let me know how this sounds on your system or if something jumps out of the mix at you in a bad way! Thanks for listening!

Dissonance
Hey Man(nequin),

This song does a bunch of good stuff in my ears. I hear sounds I would make in fact, so, I guess, I really like this!

The part of the composition that makes me think of the Cure when they were doing interesting stuff. Probably that bouncy but dark bassline. I really like the parts where it gets almost random and dissonant. The clanging drums are effective treatments as well.

I downloaded this. Thanks!

Bob

That's awesome Bob! I'm glad that it made you feel like something that you yourself might create. I used to listen to the Cure back in the day. Any song in particular of the Cure's that relates to my song or reminds you of it? Thanks again for listening and commenting!

love that bass. my impression is that buzz one gets stepping out in metropolis, catching snippets of conversations, people watching and cars whipping by. All shapes, colors and sounds. Anything is possible, the night is still young.

All that from the pic and your tune :-) tmi sometimes on my part...

That's a fantastic description! I love it. Really good comment. It's great when music and visual stimuli can make the mind think of scenarios on it's own. Cool stuff. Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to check out your tunes now!

Fun! :D
I really like this song! It's pretty quirky and feels retro at the same time with the layering of different electronics! This may be the song I need at the end credits for the new film I'm shooting in a couple weeks. Either way it's being added to my favorites for awesomeness! Thanks for sharing! :)

On
First listen the blips and beeps distracted me from the bass a bit as I wasn't expecting the quirky arrangement. However once I'd got over that and was able to lock onto the excellent bass a bit more I started to really enjoy being in the groove with this one and enjoyed the ride way more.
In fact on 2nd listen now and am more relaxed and really enjoying the groove...
So I went from slightly confused and anxious to relaxed and happy :)
very cool and interesting

Awesome! Thanks for describing your listening experience! I've listened to this song so many times while working on it that I tend to forget what the 'virgin' listening experience might sound like. I'm glad it's growing on you! I'm off to check out your stuff now!

Head On The Door
The Cure song I wasn't comparing you to, was Close To Me - the bouncy bass line has a similar effect on me as the Cure did during that era.

I'm still loving this tune. Listened to it a few dozen times since I downloaded it!

Thanks again!

this is a great piece, full of raw energy and very cool sounds and textures. my only suggestion is to work on making the ending feel a little less abrupt. I really enjoyed this - make it longer!

ic42 says...
hopping onto the enviroshuttle that patrols the perimeter of MetroGlob, we sit right behind the cockpit, and can clearly see out the front window of the tube-car. Headlights illuminate the sewer pipes ahead, and the robot arms extend out in front as we descend into the lightly glowing water. As we are propelled forward down the massive pipes, strange colored flashes of light and soft glows come from pieces of discarded trash swirling in the water ahead of us. The robot arms deftly snatch colored bits from the water as we glide by, and sort them into slots on the side of the shuttle for processing. There is a dazzling hypnotic effect, watching the perfect orchestration of the arms snatching at the comic-book dancing of the multi-colored bits of detritus, as if we are in the Kraken as it swims out to feed.

Adam, this is great - nothing stands out on my phones except the quality of the recording and performance. Part of me kind of wishes there was a vocal, but then again, I think this stands really well without.
Cool.
