Description
My greatest challenge in life finding time to....

I don't know if I'm finished with this, but I needed to get it out there in case another month went by. The noisy percussion section could really be developed more but I just ran out of time.

I'd love some real drums.

Time To...
Love the driving bass line and the drums. Nice lyrics! I can relate. Nice synth sounds. Pretty slick. I really like the openness of this composition. There's lots of room for all the instruments to breathe. Nice job.

Instruments Breathe, I Don't!
I live my life through the eyes of my music.

Huh?

Thanks Mann - I was trying to make some breathing room.

Synthtastic
What amazes me Bob is your ability to jump genres without it ever feeling contrived. You are as comfortable with this slice of cool 80's experimentopop as you are with indie, metal or whatever you turn your hand to. I like the textures and the use of space around the sounds. I also think the vocal is top notch, feels a little David Byrne like in places. Outstanding.

Stop Making Sense
Thanks Paddy. That's very kind of you to say.

I never had a listening audience to my music before MJs so my habit has always been to make something that I feel works based on whichever environment I'm nustled in. I don't normally decide, "I'm gonna write a rock song" and go off and write a rock song. I couldn't do that if I tried. More typically I will start with with a bass line of a vocal melody and try to find a single instrument that works with it. If I'm lucky, I find one. Then I try to find a second element. As the heap of noise piles up, I try to organize it into sensible piles/ideas and then it goes from there.

Thanks for the encouragement.

think, breathe and play.
I like that tense rumbling bass and how the song, of course, takes its time to say it hasn't got enough, thus creating the bubble of me-time it's pining for.

Think, Breathe..... and PLAY!
I kept making this song longer and longer as the night went on. Every new section that I extended seemed like it was meant to be bigger, so I kept adding measures and it just kept feeling better and better and better!

Thanks,

YUM
even better than the original. In another world I'm a music video director and we come across a shot of a funny looking foreign car parking in the woods somewhere. Then we see Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbacheb making out in the back of the car with this song on the radio. Mikhail keeps getting his hand swatted away. Then Ron puts his finger over Mikhail's lips and you see him mouth "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" and from there it's paradise by the dashboard lights. But you don't see that part because the song is done by then.

Booouncy
I wasn't too sure about a couple of my transitions. I thought it might've been rather abrupt in a couple of instances, but it kinda worked conceptually, so I went with it.

Thanks Jay

Like the drums
Chemical brothersish before it goes all super electro. If there was ever a song that demands the robot dance this could be it.
Good choice of instrument sounds here.
Nice one

I really dig hoe the drums sound btw. Great, clean electro tune. Could be a soundtrack in an indie film or something.

Very cool idea with the vox.

I wish I had more time to...

Hey Bob
Ya know what I like about your music is its always so happy, sometimes a bit manic but happy. I like your approach on this sounds like you dropped a few midi drums into a synth track very creative. BTW me and my daughter enjoyed eating pancakes while listening thanks!

bubblin'
whoo. Big bubbly bassline! Reminded me a lot of Kraftwerk. Love the grimy synth too. Great vocal bursts too. I know what you mean about time - never seems enough time to do anything and it seems to get shorter every day!! Drums could be more driving - more four to floor rather than funky for this one?

Groovin'
One of your best grooves yet. The drums fine, though some of the fill scould be a touch more explosive.

Great keyboard sounds as well. I've got all the time in the world for this ear candy!

LOOOOOOVE that driving bass line! This has massive potential. may I suggest you ask Dark Planet (formerly Tom Wounded) to add some metal guitar?

Anyway, this may be unfinished, but it still works.

Love that groove
Sweet bass and drum groove. At first I thought this was an R&B/Funk Groove (duh?) its listed in Electropop ;p Anyway, this is a fun quirky tune. I love the lyrical chant. Cool retro synth sounds to, but the best part is the groove which sets this apart from most electropop stuff because it has more attitude and soul. Wonder if you could do a version as a funk tune? . . . would probably work too.
