Lyrics
It's a Bob in the lamp!

A guy named Hank found an old lamp, up in an attic, inside a dusty trunk
He brushed its metal skin, and all of a sudden, the lamp flew out of his hands,
and out came a smoky cloud

And from the cloud appeared what seemed to be a man, and it was, and it was Bob
Yeah, that Bob! He just stared at the man for a long, long time before he broke the silence:
"You've got three wishes man, so chose well!"

The man, chocked of course, sat down to think: "All I can do is to be whomever that is…"
"What's your three choices?" asked Bob. "Remember, once you've made your choice you ain't takin' it back!"
"There's no takin' it back!"

It's a Bob in the lamp!

The man said: "My first choice is a pretty, pretty girl, someone with brown hair, and curls!"
"Well, well", said Bob, "what about this Edie-looking thang, you can have her!?"
"Okay", said the man.

"My second choice is a few Dollars to spend on my girl, perhaps a few bills and some change?"
"Don't matter how much money you got - there's only two kinds of people: there's saved people and there's thus who is lost".

"Okay, cool", said the man. "My third and final choice is a good, good meal, you know,
like a steak, gravy, and peas…"
"You've got it! I've dined with kings, I've been offered some mighty wings. I can easily grant you your request!"

It's a Bob in the lamp!

Oh! That Bob!
There's a great Bob Dylan thing about your vocal phrasing on this one. Yeah, I typed that before I realized I'm a dumb-ass and that was your intention all along. So that means you truly nailed it, because I heard Bob in the song before I saw Bob coming out of the lamp. This is fun and as usually, very well produced.

This has to be the most imaginative song
I've heard in a long time. Fantastic concept and deft handling of the vocal references without outright imitation. Too cool for me man - this is great.

bob lamp
hi mikki
this begins very well; great banjo and girlie vocals....but while the song has a narrative drive, it doesn't go to enough places for me. you usually have some interesting little hook...like i expected there would be for the 'bob in the lamp' line. when you are a genius it's tough at the top.

It is a great song for many reasons. I love your accent and the way you understand english. It makes these lyrics all the more special. The humble wishes make me envy this mans desires. This is a great story and song.

I just can't keep up with your posts - sorry!
This is another fantastically inventive song - with just enough craziness to confirm that it's one of yours :)
I second VH's comment.

Slow Train Coming
What an original and yet referential piece--a twisted GarageBand talking blues.

The backing vox and horns are the frosting on this tasty cake.
