Solar Flare (The Brown-Clegg-Cameron Mix)

I couldn't resist this one. A well hung parliament, solar flares and my penchant for dramatic music. A recipe for lots of noise and turmoil. It is a new mix, although based on other ideas I've had before.

I was originally calling it Stellar Nursery (a birthing area for new stars to be formed) as recently photographed and published on the web, as that seemed equally topical. Political mechanations and maneuvers won out though.

It would also seem suitable for more classical treatment at some future time.

I'm always interested in any thoughts you may have.

I watched episode 9 of Cosmos, which was about stars, including nurseries. Although I am a big fan of Vangelis (who has done most of the soundtrack music of the series) your music would probably be more fitting to those often pretty dramatic pictures. Take care.

Hi Henke....
You are so kind with your comments. I don't know what else to say. I'll have to watch the episode that you speak of and see/hear what you mean.

Take care.

Hi Kenta.......
Thank you for all your kind comments and your encouragement. It means a lot to me if anyone listens to these mixes and it means even more if the listener has a positive experience whilst listening.

Take care.

Great title. I wonder which mix it will be? If any.

Stellar arrangement and mix. Crystal clear instrumentation. I see where you're coming from when you say classical treatment. This could easily be orchestrated and played symphonically. Good stuff Paul, as ever.

Hi Dave......
I'm finally calm enough, after the election/post-election manouverings, to reply to all those that have left me a thought or two.

The classical mix may appear before (the year) 2100.

Take care.

(You now know the political mix so I guess I'll put up another mix to celebrate (or words to that effect)).

I agree with Henke. Vangelis makes fine music but I think your efforts would have worked better for many of the topics in Cosmos, or any other space-related productions. On the other hand, that was a long time ago, and he was working with less precedent. Anyway, you have a way of capturing the dramatic and otherworldly. Another top piece.

Hi Duane......
I know what you mean with my 'capturing the other worldly'. It's the story of my whole life, gazing into the distance from early school days (and therefore not paying attention to the lesson). Then I discovered philosophy, and both meet behind my brow, their to meld and help create my soundscapes.

Take care.

dark classical ambient
Alan Hovhannes, perhaps? This reminds me of his "Mysterious Mountain", though I've not heard it for decades, so I may be mis-remembering. Such dark impressionistic colours you paint with here, quite compelling, as if I have looked into the birth-furnace of the universe, and am hypnotized by the raw power and magic of it all. A spectacular achievement here, Paul. A wonderful mix and careful choice of instrumentation.

Hi Mr D......
I now know who Alan Hovhannes is, but have still not heard any of his music. He seems a very interesting guy. I look forward to finding some of his music somewhere and hearing/playing it.

Reading some of the Upanishads and other Indian works, along with my interest in everything and anything give me lots of ideas that may not ever come together into a soundscape with other composers. It is both a benefit and a curse.

Thank you for the very kind words.

Take care.
