Description
The mix is a new one, inspired by the political goings-on of the last week or so. I had become more and more engrossed with what was happening that I lost touch with reality more than normal. I've come back down to earth though, today. Hooray for the Dave and Nick Show........

The mix itself moves around a bit, from a content point of view, and also seems to have rhythmic changes along the way, varied sparklies, a secondary mix two-thirds into the piece (not strickly true) and finishes relatively stable(-ish).

Please let me know your thoughts.

Very good
The opening reminded me more than a little of Dimitri Tiomkin's score for the 1951 sci-fi classic "The Thing". Very interesting and enjoyable work on this---thanks!

Hi Michael.....
I love Dimitri's film music although the movie you mention is not one that I've seen (up to now).

I enjoy doing things different in my mixes, so there is always something different from the norm. It keeps me on my toes whilst putting everything together.

Take care.

Hi.....
Since the latter part of 2009 and this year, most of my mixes are dark or scary, so I was reluctant to finish them or upload them. This piece is trying to show, by means of the sounds, the up's and downs and all the other 'opposites' of a political coalition, or at least my idea of one. I too look over my shoulder from time to time.

Take care.

cavern-ish :-)
love the little ambient water droplets, the wind and the pulsing strings. All wired to make an enjoyable out of body experience.

Hi John....
It's good of you to stop by to listen. The water, echo-ey sounds, are something I enjoy adding to some of my mixes. Out of body experiences. That's another whole area of interest for me. Dreaming is a virtual, out of body experience, and my soundscapes, at some time or another, cover many of these type of situations.

The changes, both of rhythm and sounds, gave me the idea of a group working together, but all with differing ideas. Call me mad.

Take care.

Politics
Back to orbit for you. That's where you make your best music. In spite of your comments, I don't think you've really come back down to Earth. Your music always transcends the everyday.

Hi Duane......
Some of my most used soft synths have designs that resemble space scenes of one type or another, so naturally my mind wanders somewhat whilst putting together tracks. I thought that some of the sounds in this mix brought the piece down to earth. I tried. Ha ha.

My mum always said that I walked around with my head in the clouds. My dad inferred it was somewhere else entirely. As long as I'm in the clouds moving up or above the clouds, that will do for me.

Transcendance of the mundane, everyday happenstance. Sounds like the perfect seed-thought for a future meditation.

Take care.
