Description
Another bass driven song - two parts, one to lay down the groove with my Lakland 5594 and one to solo over the top with my 73 Fender Jazz. I still have some tweaking to do on it, but I like the overall feel of the song. I also play some keys...still considering adding guitar. Any feedback would be appreciated. i borrowed the song name from a brilliant songwriter friend of mine.

Very good!
This is a very cool lounge track--I really liked it! I guess my only suggestion would be a bigger build up at the intro, but the rest was just great!

The Bass King
You have that fluid, funky, R&B thing down. What a great melody. And to perform it so expressively on the bass is such a wonderful achievement. The organs and percussion are tastefully arranged and add so much. This is killer. Download.

Thanks!
Thanks for the words Andrew and Michael, I really enjoy this song for some reason. It was a fun experience putting it down. One thing I am contemplating is re-recording the solo parts as I feel they are a bit sloppy in places, but also adding some guitar, not much, but enough you give it a funkier vibe. I am also wanting the soloed parts to not seem so buried, a problem that I may have caused by using a bit too much reverb.

Soloing
Call me old-fashioned, but I like to hear a theme before I hear a solo.

Somewhere around 0:25 you start playing that melody bass, but only around 0:48 does it actually sound like a theme. I think you should take that theme, and open with it. With conviction.

The whole track sounds great, and your bass playing is exquisite.

I'm with you on that..
I can see your point, I too am a fan of setting the solo with a consistent melody line...in the context of this song, I was originally going to add sax or possibly a guitar melody line, but after setting it up I like the open vibe of it all...thanks for the kind words and critique, I appreciate both.
