No Helicopters (Particle Dots Mix)

Description
I was trying to learn how to perform some of my songs on a piano. I was messing with Helicopters
and when it became apparent that I can't play the piano very well, I decided to go back to GarageBand and start replacing electro synth parts with Grand Piano sounds and try to make a piano version of the song. That's about the worse use of a couple of spare hours that I can think of.

As I was scrapping the idea, I wondered, "What would Particle Dots do?". I sent him a note and he graciously accepted my offer to particlize the tune.

He sent me several different versions, all of which I like, but I chose this one to post because I like this the best. I think it's the furthest from the original, therefore more interesting to my ears.

Thanks Bryn. You are an act of originality.

Love this version I think particle dots is really an expert or something like that, just kidding but I really think he is. Your voice sounds extra cool on this love the treatment he gave your voice in the more subdued parts and the end! tops!

always
you had the devil in you. Either that or the helicopters brought sewer rod.

Is that the geico lizard? have you sold out? And does PD really have popeye arms?

Synths sound fantastic. Super chilled out vibe, the tune is now spookily detached, more legitimately paranoid.

From the book
of Particlesiastes. The sunburns and Bryn's squatter are a great touch to the artwork. The song is so delicious. Only two madmen could make a song about madness so good. The original was great, but Bryn's bits make it all the more a scary romp.

Master production on this. Lots of atmosphere and space. The vocal sounds great. I wonder how many other notes will be sent to PD. Great work guys.

this is perfect
Bob and Particle,
This is a perfect pairing of microprocessor insanity. The vocals are so perfectly suited to glitchy-coolness of the song that I can't stand it. This is the prefect running song. I'm gonna run to it today. DL'd and iPhone'd.
P.S. I love the process of changing the instrument used on Apple Loops, taking piano parts and changing them to marimbas, etc etc. Such fun!
Thx!

great sound.
this version underlines the dramatic content of the song and gives it some extra texture, but the tension was already in the original.

The original song was cool;
this re-imagining/re-production is equally cool at very least. Synth and beats have a delirously paranoid android flavor. Interesting how much all the particledots production touches influences the overall arc of the song and its emotional effect: it seemed shorter, was that my imagination?

Cool
although the vocals sounded a bit distant to me throughout the song. I think they could be a bit more out front. Really liked this song too.
